HPC (Greg) 2Wheel in Tuner July07

(BusaWhipped @ Jun. 10 2007,17:01) Congrats on the write-up Greg.  But note 2WT bias towards the Cowasucki?  "Busa rider said that in the near future the Kawasaki will be the bike to have for these land speed events"

Lets see, the Busa went 232, none of the 14s broke 200 and one of them grenaded the motor trying.   There are Busa's handling 30# of boost, but according to 2WT "five to seven PSI of turbo boost is a testament to the strength and resilience of Kawasaki's ZX14 motor.

No respect for the King.
With 450 horsepower a skate board could run 200 into a 17 mph head wind. I agree, based on personal experience the 14 can't take the same romping a Busa can...hopefully they make some changes in 2008 when the 2008-2009 series is released. A turbo with a bullet proof bottom end is very tempting.....time will tell.

Oh by the way, we had a 308 hp. Turbo Busa in our stable as well...the rider had some issues with wheelies at stock height/length......which has since been fixed..lowered, stretched, race shock added.

For now, ride your ride and I hope to see you at the Texas Mile in October.

Greg

What were the semi stock bikes running? Say a typical Busa and or 14 with the common mods we see. Pipe, airbox, and some tuning. With the typical member riders 200-250 guys, not the 130lb jockeys.

Rick

I have a friend that ran 193 on his 2000 Busa weighing 250 I think he told me. MacFast

I am not certain, but for bolt-ons, pipe, filter and PCIII.There is a 14hp..and 5 foot pounds of torque favor to the 14 and 50 more CC's. I think the aerodynamic shell of the Busa counters that because it cuts through the air better, proven in the recent wind tunnel test. It takes power to punch through the air up top (200+) and I think, the 14 needs more in that area than the Busa...again all speculation based on personal experience.

Congrats Greg and it looks like all that hard work your doing is really paying off.

Keep up the great work

Oh I think you need to stop playing with the ZX-14 and go with a true winner the BUSA! Plus when the new Busa comes out everybody going to forget about the ZX-14 anyway.

I'd like to try the Texas Mile next year if it doesn't interfere with the PMRA series. I was hoping for it to be able to pull me to mid 180s.

I am sure you would have a blast and surpass your goal. A few of the pure drag race guys we brought along...did not like the mile run. Its just one big quarter mile...hope to see and meet you out there. If I can ever go to one of these things and just relax. I think I will when I feel the machine is up for the task. Not there yet. We will have the Turbo Busa w/BST wheels w/Elka shocks, now stretched and lowered at the October event so either way....I am going 200..or else.

I ran several 191 192 and finally a 193 at Maxton.
182 Hp yosh cams,pc2,full header, air box mod, bmc filter, par valve removed, KWS dyno tuned
weigh 242 pounds
Tried and tried to get in the 200 club. KWS said all it takes is Time and Money.
I did get 207 on GPS on a 2.5 mile straight but thats on GPS

Great job at Maxton
