Hyperpro Steering Damper Under Mount

Hi All,

Went thru the old post to find out about the steering damper installation, but all I found was

Ohlins Steering Damper old post or reworks on the original damper

As I do not wish to top tank mount the damper (due to tight space and worry of stolen), after extensive research I found the Hyperpro Rsc fits my needs.

Before I buy the wrong parts. Would like to ask if I had done my home work correctly. That Rsc 75mm is the model to buy for hayabusa and also, it's a better road usage steering damper compare to other brand? I would also need to purchase a under mounting kit that's uses the same as the gsxr1k

I found the mounting kit for original position is MK-SU07-O002

Thanks for all your valuable data.

If you meant to say 'better than the other model,' the RSC is better than the CSC for most road use. I bought an RSC for my ZX-14 ten years ago. I remember speaking to someone on the phone about the two models and what I remember is that I was told the CSC is more for stunting. The CSC stiffens the steering movement at all times. The RSC only stiffens the steering in more abrupt steering inputs such as steering wobble. I was a little skeptical if the Hyper-Pro RSC was doing anything at first, I felt no more resistance to turning the steering with or without it. In time, I came to trust it. Like the busa, the ZX-14 hasn't much trouble with steering wobble other than a single jar going over a bump. After using the steering damper set at the maximum damping for a while, I noticed I NEVER experienced any of those minor whips in the steering, as rare as they are with no damper at all. The true test was hitting a deer on my ZX-14. The Hyper-Pro sprayed all the oil out and it is now extremely stiff. Apparently they won't save you if you hit something but at least we can be confident they work for what they were designed for. Although, I have no reason to suspect the stock steering damper on my Hayabusa isn't doing everything it was meant to do, I would buy a Hyper-Pro RSC for any bike I owned that was not equipped with a steering damper.

Sorry, no info on mounting an aftermarket steering damper on a Hayabusa. Like I said, the stock one on my 08 seems to be doing the job.

I'd give Hyper-Pro a call. The number's at the bottom of this page. I'm sure that's what I did when I was choosing between the RSC and the CSC. They might have some tips on mounting as well. Steering dampers - Hyperpro

Hi bro,

Thanks for the extensive review. I think I will change to rsc

BTW, base on hyperpro catalogue. There are reverse and normal. Do you have any idea what are the difference?

The on top is normal

Below is reverse.

Notice how the adjuster and mounting bush orientate.

Wondering which 1 fits the busa...
