i just added a K&N filter and now second gear doesnt feel strong. ive been reading about the 2nd gear problem but mine doesnt feel as its slipping cause at first it doesnt feel strong but it then opens up till red line. i dont know if its that im use to the power which i Doubt or should i re map with the same map? just incase.

by the way the mods i have

pair block offs
akrapovick TI
power comander with one of their maps
air box flap removed
tre
and K&N filter

Try uninstalling then reinstalling the current map, or try using the base map...

I'm noi mechanic but I can't see how the K&N filter would cause this problem....I wouldn't think the K&N is too restrictive on flow.

I was having a similar problem with my old bike when I installed the K&N filter. The bike felt like it wanted to die until I hit the high RPM range. Even felt like it was sputtering at times, just didn't run smooth. Turns out the bike was running extremely lean and I ended up having to put a jet kit on it to richen up the fuel mixture. Are you sure you haven't leaned out your AFR too much with the new filter installed? Is your new map written for the K&N filter, and you're not just using the map you had written for the bike prior to putting in the new filter?

Your other bike was carbureted? So it wasn’t a busa. I have run K&N’s on both my 02 and 06 and have never had a problem but I do you live at sea level so that might have something to do with it.

Which map you running?

im using the map on the PC site. i havent been able to get a custom map made yet cause i want to add cams in the future. im going to ttry and use the same map and see what happens but i thought the K&M would be better than stock. im thinking the same about it leaning out. does anyone have a better map to use so i can test other than the one on the pc site?

Now you've done it. Revlis is going to jump in with his Busa main jets again!

i would think it would have to be in the program. the tre gives it full timing in the lower gears so it cant be timing is the problem. so i would think it would have to be a/f ratio. but i dont understand why its only doing it in 1 gear? i would call pc and ask them which program to use.
