I got a BT56 sent instead of a BT015?

Would you guys run a BT56 on the rear of an 08 for a while?

I posted in the FS threads about needing a stock 08-09 rear tire low mileage preferred to get me though the winter and then I'll get two new tires come next spring.


A guy hit me up on PM said he had a rear off an 09 with 234 miles on it for 85 bucks shipped.

It showed up, and it's actually a BT56.

I am trying to find the DOTstamp to check week and year production.

Thanks in advance guys. I am so ADD-HD about the tires matching F and R.

Yes sir, it was made late '04...probably came of a '05 Busa

I emailed the guy to please be sure he didn't send me the wrong one.

He said it was off an 09 and had 234 miles on it. The tire looks great, like it was ridden in a parking lot only.

Dude this sucks.

That didn't come off an 08-09 man! No way no how. They did come stock on the 1st gens though. Those tire were crap then and still are. There a semi hard sport touring tire with the emphasis on touring. Not good for the twisties or anything else "Busa" if you ask me. Get your money back if you can. Sorry this happened to ya. What did the guy think, that you wouldn't notice. Some people really suck.

He said it was off his 09 model though. ???

Well, just got off the phone with him.

Looks like I am stuck with this darn thing, crap.

Why in the heck didn't I demand a picture of the tire. Dude says it's off his 08 that came from the back of his 08 over the phone. And he said he got it from a dealer that way. I was like Bro, the manufacturer date is 4504, thats the DOT code for 45th week in 2004, Hello.

Guess I learned this lesson.

Man that sucks Zack. I know when we talked on the phone last night you were still uncertain of the production date.
That is an old tire and I don't think I would run it now. Just my opinion. But you may want to PM Daniel and see what he says.

If you like, feel free to post the members name and we can add him to the DOUCHE pile. He BS'd you plain & simple 4 First he tells you it's off his '09 and then when you call him back it's off an '08!? WTF? unch:

OK, Rocky called me back and he is a stand up guy.

I appologized for posting ASAP, he said he has spoken with his dealer and he called me and we are working it out. I am shipping it back and he'll send me another tire ASAP.

Please don't hold any grudge or anything against him. he went out of his way to help me and it's all being worked out.

I felt bad when he first left me a message,

He did say he was gonna call his dealer in Charlotte b/c that's the tire that was on it when he got it.

And told him I had been burned before and figured I would never hear from him again.

He explained the situation and we have it all worked out.

He used to ride a turbo GSX-R1K also, I laughed and said I hope he enjoys his Busa.
