I would first like to give a GINOURMOUS Thank you to MyRulz (Lisa) and MPH200 (Michael). They were absolute life savers taking control of the situation and making things as easy on hubby and I as possible. The most important part of it all is that they took extra special care of our six year old son Ian and kept him calm, safe, and made sure that he was not traumatized.
As the MSF Manual says that I received last month, there is usually not one factor in a mishap but multiple. Mine happened to be riding too long in the over 100 degree heat and tired, but the boys had locked us out of the house and we decided riding in the wind was better than sitting outside in the horrid heat.
We were on our was home and I made it through the S curves, and from what I can tell got in some gravel, panicked and grabed a big hand of front brakes. The front end went into a pothole (bending the forks), the bike when tumbling, I did not let go and the bike and I went down at around 40 miles an hour. Of course EMS picked me up and transferred me to Austin's level 1 trauma center. My brand new riding jacket was cut off in a matter of seconds along with all my clothing. I am very shy and asked for a blanket in the EMS. The paramedic said not to worry that he drops naked people off at the ER all of the time. I have some pretty nast knee injuries and collar bone inury, but and feeling a little better every day.
We have already flea bayed most of the parts for fixing up the SV.
What I really, really need is just the can part of my Yoshi exhaust. Yoshi wants $365 and I don't want to pay that with all the other money I am shellling out. If anyone knows of a cheaper place to get just the pipe (can?) part please let me know. The 4-2-1 is fine and intact.
Please let me know if anyone has any leads on Gen I 2002 Suzuki SV replacement parts.
Thanks,
Krisitn
PS Since we are all pic ho's I have included a couple of pics. I will have to add some new ones from today as she has been stripped down.
