I have a little computer issue

When I go to www.yahoo.com and check email, it tells me I need to load the flash 9 player for the IM that is available there.

Ok I go to the adobe site, load the player, the little vid comes up and tells me installed successfully.

Back to yahoo. Same thing.

Any site that requires the flash plug-in tells me that it is not installed.

Anyone have any clues?

If this is firefox, it tends to need shut down and the plugin loaded manually and not through the web browser..

I personally do not open emails with flash or active scripts

Oops,
Forgot that. I am running Vista home premium and ie7. It is a brand new computer came with the OS. It did work and now does not.

You can try downloading the plugin at the link TXBusa05LE posted, close your web browser and run the installer.. I am not much on Vista but it is possible that Vista is looking after your best interest and not allowing the script to run..

Can you see the Hayabusa org banner at the top of this page? I think that requires flash player to be installed as I recall..

Ok, went to the adobe tech help, d/l the uninstaller, ran it, restarted IE7 and now it works. I dunno.

I had restarted the proggy and the machine a couple of times. I am just glad that it is fixed.

Glad you got it. I had the same problem on my daughters' PC - had to uninstall and all was well.

I have been getting "macromedia player not found" errors when it goes to screen saver. reloaded it it from Adobe and still get it.

I had an error come up the other day that said I might be losing my RAM?

I hate Vista. I upgraded to vista and have had variety of minor but inconvenient probs ever since.

I won't use Vista. It's ME on steroids.

Yucky.

I have Vista on my new Dell and haven't had any probs at all. I wouldn't have wanted to upgrade to it from XP tho. Every time I hear about someone having Vista problems it's always after an upgrade.
