i\'m getting mods done so will a warranty be of any use?

the mods this year will be full micro, remapper, BMC, and brocks clutch mod, next year will be head work and cams etc. so should i go for a extended 2yr warranty for $850cnd or about $585us, or will it be better to buy more goodies for my bike with that money. i called suzuki and asked about mods and warranty mixing together and they said that if stuff goes wrong with even the smallest chance of a mod being envoled i can forget about it being fixed. i do not have a shi-t load of money to throw around right now so i don't know if i should, 1, get 2yr warr" now. 2, get it 12 months down the road, before the other runs out. 3, don't bother even getting a two ext" warr". i've never had a brand new bike before so any tips and info would be great.

thanks, maniac

It depends what you do I suppose, since you have been a mamber a long time do you remember TED in NH and his clutch mod mess?

Do a search and take a look at that pile of BS. It would depend on how you treat your dealer and who does the mods, how do you get along with your dealer. How inadequate do you feel your Busa is in terms of power?

Pipe, PCII, air filter, cams are all easily removeable should there be a warranty issue. Take the head off, port and polish you are asking a foolish question.

We really have not seen much in the way of motor failures have we. You could just spend the money on mods, is it fair to expect Suzuki to warranty a motor that you have dismantled. I would think not.

I have suzuki do my mods. The only ones they didnt do was done by Brock davidson....he rides for suzuki.....so I guess im ok.........

Kawabuser is correct, It deponds on what defect there is and what caused the defect.
Remember warranty is defect in workmanship or materials. If you have head work done and the wheel bearings go out yes that would be warranty; if you had head work and the valves burn, tough s***
And IF you can work with a dealer instead of
agaist one it is towards your advantage.
The bottom line is this do major mods to the motor forget the warranty and collect interst on the money. If you are doing slight mods no motor pulling get the warranty.

Just a note:
always, always make sure when you bring it in to a shop you don't have small little balls of rubber under the rear fender.
It's a giveaway

put the yosh cams in your bike they use suzuki cam blanks and use the yosh mapping on your blk/box you can,t see that stuff.and that should put you at about 160/170?hp. you,ll just have to take off your pipe every time you take it in.the tech at the shop won,t even know the difference in the cams they look the same and have the same part #

I have a great relationship with my dealer. They do most of my mods and have told me my warranty is still good. I'm not really worried about it. My dealer takes good care of me. They actually like it when i do stuff to the bike so they can learn to. Its a two way street. they have a great mechanic and we always discuss my mods, (except for the clutch mod which i read here and talked to Brock about) before I put them on. So no big deal for me....
