I may need a wiring harness??

Does anyone have a wiring harness they could let go, or better yet let me borrow maybe?? I'd be glad to pay shipping costs. I am still chasing down a problem in my bikes electrical system. I can not get my bike to run with my brand new PC II. Before you all jump at that bait, the PC II works fine on my friend Busa, just not on mine. I have replaced my Crank Position Sensor, swapped my friend's ECM on to my bike, and it still won't run right. I get popping and ignition codes when I try to run the bike with the PC II (my second one that is doing the same exact thing). I think that the problem is that my harness was cut then soldered back together, and I think that either the added resistance, or something to that effect, may be causing my problem. I hate to buy a harness if it isn't going to solve my problem. Can any one help??? Do any of you have a bike that will be down for a week or so that you could unplug your harness from and let me borrow it or buy it??? I'm getting desperate for a solution, and knowing that the bike runs good without the PC II, makes it hard to justify the $500.00 for a new, non-returnable, harness, especially if it doesn't solve my problem.

If there was a problem with your wiring harness you would know . You would not have to put a pc2 on it to see the problem. Soldering does not increase resistance in an electrical circuit. have you tried a yosh box for giggles? See if it works..
good luck

To NLR,
If this is true why does it work on my friend's bike?? Something isn't right here. I don't know what else to try. I'm telling you though, that I have checked all my connections and likeI said even swapped ECM's bike to bike.
Same result. My ECM works in his bike with PC II. My only mods are Akrapovic full Ti exhaust, BMC filter, and removal of PAIR valve. I'm baffled. I have my manual, and have done most of the ignition section tests, but have not yet tested TPS or gear selection/position circuit. Something on my bike is not right, and the only thing that has been messed with is that harness.

Did you have the bike from new??

If not perhaps the previous owner played with the FI and a Yosh box and didn't return it too stock settings.
But then if you swapped your friends ECM over it should work, unless of course yours is a '99 and his is a '00

Rmp...Im sorry I was not aware that your harness has been messed with....somehow I did not see that in your post. What was done to it? how was it messed with?

NLR,
No problem, It was completely cut and soldered back together. Approx 25 wires, pretty much all the wires that go to the ECM. It's got to be the problem. I just have to find one cheap, or one that I can borrow before I buy one.

At the time it seemed like the right thing to do.....Hind-sight, you know!! I had tpo remove the rear clip in a hurry, and the rest is my stupidity.

I would just check to make sure all your insulation is sound, and that you joined the right wires back together (it only takes one..........or a strand bridging across)

We only learn by our mistakes...

Good luck

...my wreck has a harness.... and you seemed to have gained some "perspective" when it comes to electronic components....you can try my harness out, and if it works you can buy it for 50% of retail....we can test it before you leave with it to make sure it won't add to or hide your problem...but it sounds like you just wrecked yours....

...I don't know where the hell I amm....my head hurts....my face is fuked up...I don't see too good today...try 860 489 2631 or 626 0268....both numbers are fuked up from lame computers and stuff, but I'm in there....I just wailed and moaned at a Vanson employee about my suit...Kelly said they shipped it two days ago, I got a message on my phone today that it was awaiting pick up....they never even showed me a picture of it yet! I am out of pain meds so I am in an extreamly volital state of mind, I fear....
