I need help with my wifes bike

I was hoping someone could give me some insight. We went to Cycle Gear today and Juli found some aftermarket signals she wanted. I just installed them and they do not work. These are not LEDS, but just a smaller filament bulb. I tested them on the battery, and the bulbs check good. I also purchased the harness kit which made the install plug and play, double checked polarity at the connections, and I have voltage at the bullet connectors. Anyone have any ideas? The fronts blink fast now, like my Busa does with the LED undertail. But no lights on either signal. The bike is a 06 Katana 750. Thanks for any help at all, I am lost.

maybe a defective harness? do a continuity test on the harness itself. these for the front? might have the running light(hot) and the turn (hot) connected. tried reusing the stockers to see where it's lost? just a few thoughts ... good luck

Thanks Scott, these are the rears. If I unplug the new ones and plug the stockers back in, they work. Plug the aftermarkets in to the harness, no work. Test each one by itself using 12 power, they work.

When you tested the lights, did you do it through all the new harness stuff?

Sounds like the harness is not making contact with the pins on the bike for some reason or the new harness is wired incorrectly. May want to make sure the pins are in the right holes.

You could connect the new stuff and put a test light down the new socket and look for power (use the batter for ground) Could just be the ground is fouled up in the harness. (as you have two light circuits not working)

Got them working, dont know what was wrong, but taking them apart and putting them back together helped something! Thanks guys!

check that the pins are not pushing in.. a shot of contact cleaner in the new plug might be a good idea too..

sounds like it was a bad ground somewhere in the harness plugs glad you got it working
