I need to lose weight!

for my bike setup, our SBS class rules puts me at minimum weight of 625lbs bike&rider.

hit the scale at the track yesterday, and weighed in at 675!

I'm 150, gear is not light, but the bike needs to go on more of a diet than I thought!

already runnin full muzzy, aluminum subframe, some other stuff not put back on after the wreck.....

suggestions?

Aftermarket wheels may help a little...probably already got mirrors and other non essentials off. Are you running with an empty tank? you could drain it and fill a little fuel on a per pass basis.

gimme a little credit.....

Make you own exhaust system and chop em off like I did.

Check into a single-sided swing arm and see of there is any weight savings there.

Maybe see if you can replace the gas tank with a lighter smaller tank

other than what probably already have done (get ride of the rear seat or hump and just cover it with a light material, dumping any lights)

Without seeing picks of your bike and knowing what you currently have on it, not really much more advice I can give Also see if there is a lighter after market radiator, maybe a lighter fan if you are running a fan.

get a lowboy tank..... you will have less metal and be able to hold less fuel

just drill a buncha holes in everything.. haha..

used to do that with carbon fiber RC cars ... normally would save 6-7 ounces..

big difference when the whole car normally weighed in at 2 pnds battery and all.

take the rear brake system off.. not like yer using it on the track anyways. haha.

hmmm.. Do you even really need a radiator? All your doing is draggin' aren't ya? I wouldn't think it would heat up that fast.. just crank er' up 1 minute before your burn out and run..

just an idea. . I dunno

actually, with one front brake rotor&caliper, using that and the rear to stop before the last exit is strenuous....

started ridin on the street some lately, but most important... our SBS class can subject you&bike to a 10mile road course upon request.

and since I dont have money fallin out my butt like most ppl, cannot afford all that spendy stuff... cf tank, ceramic whl bearings, etc.

so, as I already guessed, I've already done the "ghetto" diet.

btw, 4th quickest streetbike in the NorthWest, the fastest n/a with exception to a 9.14 Street Pro Harley.....

9.13 Stute SP Harley <--- $$$$$$$$
9.15 Farmer ZX-12R <--- 40+ dry shot
9.38 Buzzard Busa <--- dry shot (anyones guess how much)
9.40 Cache Busa <--- stock motor&clutch, normally aspirated
9.41 Big Squeeze Busa <--- big bore, stroker, nos(not used yet since rebuild)
9.47 Racer-X Busa <--- stock motor&clutch, normally aspirated

and the list goes on............................

Cache, check out for a lighter glass tank and bodywork. . The tank is smaller and allows you to sit further forward on launches.

Mine is down to 460 wet, full of fuel (3.5 gal). And thats with all of the turbo goodies added and the water inj. tank filled.

Dymags helped a lot, as well as the one piece tail.

didn't mean to offend Cache, I figured you had thought of all that. Sort of a hard situation actually trying to maintain street ridability and increase trackability. Actually looks like you have come up with better ideas than I would have done on a street bike.

do you have all catalist body work or carbon fiber.

catch what kind of clutch do you have?

Is this the anorexic class your runnin in damn 150.
As for weight Swamping out the stock bar ends should be good for a pound and using the aluminum subframe dont remeber if you put that or not. You can alos leave some of the non esential bolts. off the ones that hold the inners on, take of teh ones that hold the nose on. i think i even saw and after market fairing stay
