I need your honest opinion on Trailer tie down

It would have to be secured in the spools or it would bounce out during transport correct?
Yes Doyle, it would have to be tied down on the stand so it would not bounce. Like I said, I was kind of trying for the stapless approach, but there is just too much play for me to be comfortable. I think it will be just fine without the rear stand or what i just built. But I can say, with her being strapped and attached to the stand I just built, she will not go anywhere.

I think that your on the right track though.. Only wider at the bottom, come up at a angle to the axle. I like the Idea just needs a little more thought..

Your going for the xxx xxxxx concept correct?

Hmm, thanks r8, I will have to look at that. Do you think that will fit inside the axle? I will have check out my local dealer on Tuesday, closed on Mondays.

....how does the chocks feel? good and strong for only rear tiedowns?
And is there a way to make them easily detachable from the trailor?
Only asking, I'm trying to feel out the quality and price to the baxley's....common or equal performances for a much cheaper price??
opinions and decisions ......what to do...what to do

Thanks Ben. The chocks are rock solid after installing the rear tie downs, you only need minimal pressure on the straps to make it solid. The chocks are ok, but you will have to find something that will work if you want to take them out easily. Mine are just bolted to the floor. I guess you could get the baxley tie down kit and use them to mount the chocks. Its just a recessed flange that will allow a bolt to be installed from the top. You will need 4 per chock though because the way the bases are made, they are not as stable as the baxleys unless secured in four places. I think the baxleys use two bolts to hold it down. I like the Harbor Freight chocks and I may not use the bracket I built, but I guess it can provide extra security and I wil use it when we come to the bash. Just extra peace of mind, but not needed here local. I got the d-rings from my local trailer supply, rated at 500lbs each and used all grade 8 hardware. I think she is coming together. Whats left? More lights, a cabinet, and a place to hang leathers.

Looks great - I always use my rear stands when trailering, & have never had a problem.
I bought 2 Harbor Freight wheel chocks too. It all gets installed this weekend.

looks good,

how wide is your trailer???
Its a 6x12. If you are asking for clearances, I have 4 inches from the wall to mirror on each side. I also staggered the chocks so one bike would be forward of the other. If you fold the mirrors, they will pass each other, just barely. It will do nicely until I get rich and famous and get a 8x20!
