I think I\'ll wait before buying an exhaust...

It seems that these headers are not making much HP over stock,I think I'll wait until more tuning technology comes along, and work on my riding skills before I fork out 900 bucks!

K: At least get loud cans in the meanwhile so you can hear your engine and don't have to look down and endanger your life to shift.

To all,any after market pipes other than stock is good for racing. If you want noise get holes drilled into your stock cans.I like to keep my fast bikes with stock pipes,it's better to be stealth than to make noise when avoiding the law. This I learned back in 1989 when my friends and I were riding our GSXR-1100's and ZX10 and FZR-1000.All the guys with after market loud pipes always got caught when speeding or doing stupid bike tricks.Talk about zeroing in on your target if you're a cop.My own opinion

Same here - I like the dual outlets. They distinguish the Busa from the smaller displacement bikes.(IMO) It appears that the stock exhaust is pretty efficient while not being loud and obnoxious. Don't misunderstand - I like loud, fast vehicles and my cars are like that but the wind noise on a bike is bad enough without adding an excessive exhaust note without much payback. It's also nice to be able to throttle up without making too much of a scene.(being conspicuous) [did I spell that right?!] Slightly modded stock cans might be acceptable?

Yeah, I agree with Cisco----the holes work and make a nice, not to loud, sound. I think a grand for 2-4 horses is a little steep. Besides, I think the two pipes kinda balance the bike.

I don't want to post hp gains until the guy who is dyno-tuning the bike gets the tweeking of the powercommander right. I never tested the hp of pipe alone, so I can't help you there. I will let you guys know as soon as he is done. The guys kind of anal, which is good when you want something done right. I will be out of town this coming week. I think he should have all the tweaks done so I will post the results friday if possible.

I have an Akropovic system and before that I had the drilled out stock cans, the exhaust system in my opinion is not much louder than the drilled cans maybe not at all louder, the exhaust system just sounds a lot deeper and meaner. If you like the sound of the drilled stock cans you will LOVE the sound of an exhaust system. I got the exhaust system mainly because I am going to do engine work to the Busa this winter, it will make the engine breathe better.

At Two Brothers Racing, dyno testing showed no real improvement over stock headers, which is why they sell only slip-ons. OEM headers are becoming really well made (that's how the OEs are able to get 150+ hp out of a stock bike), and are increasingly difficult to improve on. TBR won't sell expensive headers for Yam R6 for the same reason- 3hp slipons, 3 hp full system. Sure, light weight is nice, but pipe would be $700 or more with an aluminum canister.
Get slip-ons, unless you're drag racing and need to really build the motor.
