Icon motorhead boots

I have rode with the super duty boots since I had my Busa and don't get me wrong they are an AWESOME boot. But as I was out the other day I realized that in the event of an actual crash they are gonna let me lower leg get tore up pretty good because they are almost inbetween a low top and a high top cut. The thing is I don't want a BULKY awkward boot. I want something that will make moving my foot on and below the shifter just as easy. I am thinking about trying the motorhead. What do you guys riding with this boot think honestly?

I have them and love them but I don't think they are as safe as any of the REAL racing boots... They just don't go high enough up the ankle to give me that fuzzy warm feeling of safety... They are comfortable and for what they cover I have complete trust in them... Plus I look funny in full leathers and the shorter boots.

You just said it yourself. You dont want a big bulky boot..... these are exactly that. You will almost guaranteed have to adjust your shifter lever. Awkward feeling.

You can wear them all day long. They are comfy. But the riding part leaves a lot to be desired.

Thats what i was wondering. Is there ANY boot like these that ISN'T so bulky?

Ahhh, someone with the same question ... I have been wearing black Danner workboots for years ...work great on the Harley but on the Busa they are too cumbersome and don't have the flexibility in ankle to shift well. They work but there has to be something better. I'm not into the big, tall race boots ...I know the protect the best but not my style.

I love my Motorheads. They dont seem bulkey at all while riding and you can wear them all day. Very easy to get in and out of.

Hmmm so how would you say YOUR ridability experience is with them? Not the comfort and looks but the FUNCTION is what I am concerned with.

So they don't seem bulky or hard to move your foot with? Did you have to adjust your shifter at all or how did that work for you? I am just getting some mixed opinions on functionality here.....

I gotta ask some more here..... lol. They don't work for you but a couple others are digging them. The water is still so mirky. haha

Busa boy, I sell the Icon boots and a few other brands. Hit me up for some prices.
Thanks.

i have a pair of the field armour boots from icon my friends thought they were motocross boots. They are bulky but snugg and comfy very stiff until you break them in.

They dont seem any bulkier that any other boot I have ridden with. I had to adjust my lever just a touch with the first pair of boots I got (some off brand full length sport touring boot) and never had to adjust it again after I got the icons. As a matter of fact, I'm so comfortable with them, I wear them on my 5 mile commute to work everyday. Regular shoes just feel weird to me now. Yes they are stiff, but not uncomfortable, thats part of the protection. I was worried about shifting at first, but it turned out to be a non-issue; silky smooth. I would highly recomend them for a street boot.

yea i got the icon field armor boots. i really like them too. i hear some people complain about um becuz they cant feel the shifter but i feel it just fine..
