Last year on October 1st, the wiff and I went to Deming, NM to ride the Arroyo Seco track for a couple of days.
(Great track, btw; highly recommended!)
Anyhoo, toward the end of the first day, I was coming down the long straightaway and as I went to get into the next turn, I overbraked and dumped it. To summarize a detailed story, my gear did it's job and took the beating that was meant for me and I came out of it a little banged up but otherwise, just fine. About three weeks later, no real issues. Never even went to the hospital!
Since then, I've been bein' lazy and just let the poor bike sit in the garage. A couple weeks ago, however, I found a fully intact busa for $800. Fully intact, that is, except for the "blown engine" that the guy claims it has. I have a sneaky feeling it isn't blown at all but that there is some minor issue with it and that it's just fine.
We'll know in a bit. I'm getting set to tear the two down and rebuild my original bike with parts off the one I just picked up. And get my sorry butt back on the road again! (Rumors are flying that I've been afraid to ride again and that jes' ain't so!)
So, stay tuned. I may need a couple of new parts regardless because some of the parts I had were not stock. I'll need new frame sliders, for example. I'll definitely have some parts off the other busa that I'll sell out. The frame, the swing arm, the gas tank, several other items. No plastics, though! Sorry!
Wish me luck!
