Yahhh i just have one thing to ask what extras should i purchuse with it?

Thank you for raeding this do you have any suggestions

Don't be a squid. I would like to know where you work, sound like a good job, unless you dumping 1/4 of your yearly pay for insurance.

I am getting ready to go get a busa, very soon(hopefullly mid june). As from riding experiece, haveing music to listen to is great for longer rides. I getting a Slim-X imp-350 mp3 cd player, 8 minite antiskip. Plus you can carry ~20 hours of music on 1 cd in wma format.

hmmmmmm $5000 a year for insurance is $10,000 in two years. Why not just save the money and pay for the bike outright. Then you only have to pay for liability insurance which should only cost you a few hundred bucks a year????

But if your mind is made up... what can i say (still thinking anyone who would pay $5000 a year to insure a $10,000 bike may not have the level of maturity i'ld want to be riding on a group ride with-but thats a whole nother story)

Just my thoughts..... Get a good set of leathers and a good helmet... you may be in need of one :hammerhead:

when riding the BUSA, you need all your attention focused on riding. i would not recommend buying a CD player to listen to music while riding.. especially in traffic..

bad idea....

i would hate for your favorite song to be the last thing you remember hearing before screeeeeeeeeeech.... #!@*&%!!!!

just my .02 ride safe......

Well said Lo,

As much as I would like to listen to rock on a high speed run I would not dare. I like to hear the bike, I can hear a spring vibrate and that is what I want. i have seen to many kids riding and bopping not even knowing what is going on around them.

Stay safe enjoy the sound of your Busa.

One thing, you buy the Busa at 17? What do you buy at 21? Sounds like you want it all NOW. Hope your skills help you with your being so young. Remember, one mistake and it could be your last. You start showing off and - what can I say........ This is not the bike to show off on. You gotta have respect for it 100% of the time and still the risks are great. I've done a lot of crazy stuff in my life and been hurt a lot, man just be careful.

God to listen to you all you have to be a hundred and an ex road racer to own a busa you are the most dangerous riders the ones that think they know there bike I have said it many times it doesnt matter what bike you buy they all will killl you if you dont pay attention and get experience a busa only goes as fast as you let it . Its not like it takes off by itself and you have to hang on till it hits rev limiter in 6th gear . Yes I like to drive fast do wheelies and drag a knee now and again but honestly I have ridin everything from a 450 nighthawk to the Busa and they will all go too fast if you let them a 600 "begginers bike" as you call it will do over 150 MPH what is the difference between 55 on a busa and 55 on a katana 600 ??????? OH other than the insuraunce cost and which one would you rather be seen on ?????

You know, the boy has a good point. We have kinda already talked about this a while back. You know how it goes everybody, everyone ask what you ride, you tell them a busa, thay say your crazy for riddin such a big bike, you tell them its all in the rider. All you have to do is use your head a little bit.

EVERY BODY AGREED ON THIS POINT!

sandman already brought up that point that its all in your head and your wrist. all you have to do is use common sense.

If you can afford the bike, had some riddin experance on street bikes, and have the love for the busa, go for it. Buy the best toy on the face of the planet, live it up and enjoy life for as long as possable. (things do happen so you never know how long you or the bike may be around)

Like nike says, JUST DO IT!

just remember, once you break in the bike talk to any other busa owner and find out the best speed options and then your bike will realy be the fastest thing on the planet.

Josh
(please dont get mad at me everybody, just have to pitch in my .02)

Jester0769,

Actually we did not all agree on those points. However we did agree that it is each and everyones right to ride what they want. If memebers ask for advise on if they should or should not they will receive the advise. If they are just interested in having everyone say good boy makes perfect since for a 16 or 17 year old to ride the most powerfull production bike made, and lets not forget inexperience.

So please if they are not happy with listening to the reasons they should not get a Busa for a first bike, THEN DON'T ASK.

PLEASE don't encourage them to think motcho because some of you are young and can ride the Busas (which is great) that all first timers can. You are leading them down a wrong path.

Everyone else made all the important points and if you want more read other posts titled "hayabusa my firstbike?" etc. but if you truly want something to look good on wait 2 years and get a dodge tomahawk its a viper V-10 atached to a few wheels and little else 300+ mph top speed ESTIMATED!!!just a thought

Sandman, I would get a good bike that is going to cost you about $6K and wont lose much value in the next year. Then you can just carry liability on that bike and save the $5K a year in insurance and by your Busa next year. I wanted a new bike for so long but just couldn't bring myself to pay $4K a year for insurance. I got lucky and only paid $6500 with 1500 miles on the clock, so now I don't have to carry full. It's your money so do what you want but don't throw it out the window on insurance. Save those Tooney's!! Hope you can get a busa, it is a wonderful thing.
