I'm an idiot....

I was in rush hour traffic on Friday headed home from work. Suddenly my IPOD kicks on Faith Hill.....I have got to quit synching up with my wife's account. Anyway, traffic is slow going, so I reach into my pocket to skip ahead to the next artist......when BAM. Traffic had stopped and I didn't realize it. I smushed in my head light and cracked my upper fairing. Grasping my IPOD, I was unable to even come close to catching the bike, so the right fairing got scraped up when it fell.

Word to the wise.....death by Faith Hill is much cheaper and painless than death by SUV stopped ahead. :(

I may fix it myself to keep my insurance from going thru the roof. I have connections with a very good Dallas body shop. May replace the upper fairing and have them paint to match and fill in the scratches on the right fairing.

Meanwhile, I'm synching my IPOD to my own damn account from now on. :banghead:

You're a LEO, you should have known better than taking your concentration off the road/traffic:poke:

Sucks bro, but I am glad you are ok.

A new nose fairing comes painted for about $300

Man didnt you just get that bike? sorry to hear, glad you are ok.

ha, I had it 8 days!!! 22 years of riding with not so much as a scrape. I knew better, but sometimes with experience comes complacency. I screwed up.

Where do these $300 painted noses come from?

Hey, I'm looking at that cowling. There was an air dam looking piece of plastic that fell off and was left on the side of the road. It hooks up to the bottom of the cowling. What's the name of this part?
