Hi, I have a 06 LE Busa now and I read here like crazy so I can learn what I can build and what other Busa-ites are building. I want to build the supreme long distance Busa in custom bling glory.

So I am here but have pretty much nothing to say, I just will read and wrench and ride.

Thank you all for your help in BlingQuest 06.

If any Busabro has any site links where I can and should shop for my functional touring bling, please post my way and help me achieve poverty faster.

I love this bike, this site is real helpful. Thank ya all.

Try checking out our sponser's links at the top of the main page~ You should be able to find some great bling in there~ Remember to post pics of your progress as you build this bike~ Would be cool to watch it come together for ya~

Welcome to the org!

The Busa is not a touring MC. I researched a lot of info on this and other sites and all I heard was how it was so comfy on long rides and how well it does with 2 people on board. That is wrong. If you like being humped over against a tank with your girl on behind not knowing if she should try and sit up straight or stick her tail in the air and hang on to you, you will probably like it. If you enjoy your wrists aching and your hands going to sleep after a 2 hour ride with 2 stops, you will probably like it. If you like trying to hunker down lower to get a peek at the speedometer or fuel gauge or heaven forbid the tachometer, you will probably like it.

I know everyone is entitled to their own opinions....i have plenty of my own...

But does this guy sound like he is unhappy with his bike?? Maybe he can donate it to Captain, he would LOVE the feel of his wrists acking if he could have one! Just my .02

bike for himself. Along with NOT knowing how to set it up for what he wants. Of  course ya got to know what you want first

From what he is saying, he needs a Yamaha FJR 1300 or a Goldwing. Probably a Goldwing with GPS with Weather.com connected, Radio FM-AM, Disc Player, Cruise Control, Heated Grips, Hwy Pegs, Custom Windshield, Air Bag, Power Air Suspension, HID aux lights, and a Russel custom seat. I ride with several guys on LD Rallys who have just this bike. They love it, so, to each his own, YA just got to know what you want

"OH" yea, and the Wing says, "Good  Morning Mr. (whoever) ", or Good Afternoon- Good Night which ever it is "

OK, guys. Now for the "Rest of the Story". I contemplated the FJR1300. I thought about the ST1300. I even considered a GoldThing. The bikes that have stirred me for the last 5 years have been the Honda Blackbird, the ZX-11, the V-Max and of course the Busa. I have had bikes all my life and never met one that I didn't like to some degree. The only sportbike I have rode was a 250 Ninja that I bought my girlfriend. The only problem was the "buzzing" in the bars. My dreambike as a teenager was the VF1100C Magna. I have had one now for about 8 years and I still think that a lot of the modern bikes can learn from this design. The bike I just sold to get the Busa was an 02 Naked Bandit. This was a really nice bike with plenty of power and a halfassed nice riding position. I really liked this bike but wanted something just as sporty but with a little longer wheelbase to accomodate the passenger and lean a little more toward touring. Now you know the history. Anyone else looking at the Busa for "touring" duty, read the following:

Rider - 6' 3" 185lbs.
Bike - 06 Busa
Handlebars - ConveriBars with 8 inch 0 degree risers
You will also need to order 5" longer clutch and
Brake lines. Bring the cyclops clamps all the
way rear and angle the bars all the way back.
Shield - Get the ZG Sport Touring shield (full tint). The wind
blast will hit you about at the neck level. You will
have to *CUT* the shield. If you don't have a
Dremel tool, you will have to get one. No biggie,
the cuts look nice and nobody notices unless you
tell them.

I knew when I bought this bike that there would be compromises I would have to make. I have made them.

This machine rocks now.

Actually it was a great machine before the mods, but now it is a very comfy, great machine.

Zalto ..... "why does everyone drive so slow now???"
