Installed sliders

I didn't take step by step pics of the install but would be willing to help walk anyone through it who doesn't feel comfortable doing it themselves. Please excuse my baby - she has some scars from where she fell over. In the first shot you can clearly see that the right side seems longer then the left.

I have a perfect 1/16th all the way around. I know people say the fact that the left is longer is fine. I know other people use washers to make 'em seem even. If I decide to do that should I use a longer bolt?

Looks good. I wouldn't worry about it. The Busa is not symmetrical which is why the bolts are different sizes. The good thing is you have them on now!

I just bought some powersport sliders-- a little skiddish on the install-- what type on hole saw did you use, and at what speed did you run the drill. I have 2" blumoll- but should I use a 700rpm- or 2500 rpm drill speed? really thinkin bout puttin it on the service guys-- they screw it up- and they would replace.
good job

I used a Rigid brand hole saw form Home Depot. I measured my sliders with a dial caliper and they measured at 1.750 so I went with a 1 7/8" hole so that I'd have a 1/16th all around. I don't know how fast the drill was spinning because it's varible speed and I stopped a few times just to have a look.

As far as the accuracy of the hole location I borrowed the idea from one of the many slider threads around here. I can't remember the person's name. I went to Home Depot and bought a bolt - same thread as the one for the sliders and it was 80mm long. It cost me $2.49. I took it home and cut the head off with my Dremel, then sharpened it to a point. Not a blunt one, it looked like a sharpened pencil when I was done. I installed it into where the sliders mount and re-installed the fairing. You have to use your judgement as for how far to leave it sticking out. Replace the fairing and tap litely around where your sharpened bolt is. Remove the fairing and viola - a perfect pin prick of where to drill. I drilled a 1/4" pilot hole from the inside of the fairing. I re-installed the fairing and looked through the hole with a flashlight - sure enough it was dead center. I then took masking tape and covered a fair portion of the area around where the hole was going. Then I drilled the big hole with the fairing still on the bike so I could get the angle right. It worked.

Let me also tell you that I bought the sliders 2 weeks ago and before that I did major research here on the org. I read every thread on installing sliders I could find. Then one set or brass balls later we have a perfect fit. I was scared during the install but what a feeling to mount those babies and have them line up. Take your time and you'll do fine.
