Installing Yosh exhaust question???

Long story, but I had an exhaust leak after I installed my full yosh last summer. I took it back apart this week, and I installed new set of those circle copper exhaust header gaskets.

I am putting it back together right now, and I am not sure how far the actual yosh header should fit into the exhaust ports in the head. All of the bolts are good and tight, but should I tighten them even more until the header flanges are flush against the head? I am asking this because I figured it would be easier to ask someone then tear it back apart again.. Here are some close up pics of what I am talking about. It looks like there is about an 1/8" lip sticking out still, but ALL of the bolts are TIGHT! What do you all think?

It looks as if the flanges that contact hte exhaust gaskets are seated. Check the torque specs (On line manual at the top of "General bike" forum) on the exhaust bolts. Were there any torque specs that came with the header?

quazy,

I would go just a little more than snug!

If you go to tight then they will just start bending and probably cause a bigger exhaust leak.

I was thinking the same thing when I installed my BDE GEN III but everything looks/sounds/runs good!

If you already have them tight, I would just leave them like it is.

Just looks wierd for that last 1/8" lip to be sticking out. I figured it was tight enough, I just wanted to make sure though. Ill go ahead and do some cleaning while its apart then Ima put it all back together. Thanks!

PS. can you believe it was fuggn snown' today? Whats up with that? Grrr... this weather is drivin me mad!
