I just received a quote from State Farm for my busa. They qutoed me $700.00 a year collision and comprehensive (100/300/100). That is delta of $3100.00 from what Oppressive was asking (my soon to be ex insurance company). My rate will be even lower once I move my cars, van, and house over. BTW, Allstate quoted $1200.00 Thanks guys for the info. Also, thanks Tom "Postal" for recommending your agent she was great to work with!!!!

Yeah, State Farm has always took care of me. you can't beat their rates or service. They've insured my 01 ninja zx9r, 02 TL1000R, and 05 Busa. Last but not least, filling a claim is simple and fair.

I use State Farm also. Though, my agent is a high pressure sales guy who wants me to have every bit of insurance I might ever consider under his control. I had to splash him with cold water a few times to keep him from calling me every other week.

The rates are real good for bikes. Cars, home, life, etc are not as good as the bikes.

i heard if you get a ticket they drop you [bikes] is this true?

I wanted to go State Farm, but they wouldn't insure the bike without the vehicles. I was with Progressive, but I've since then put all my vehicles with AIG. It was recommended to me by my agent of almost 20 years.

State Farm sux big green donkey balls!

I loved that they treated my busa like any other 1300cc bike as far as premiums are concerned, but when it came time to pay for the theft of my baby they devalued my bike severely. They quote from a book that favors them, rather than actual replacement cost (I did LOTS of research trying to find bikes similar to mine, and what they were selling for.) When the stripped frame was recovered six weeks ago, they told me I would have to participate in an auction for it-no first right to purchase.

I've had State Farm for a few years now, I'm 40, clean driving record, and they have me in a category where even if I get a speeding ticket or have an accident, my premiums are guaranteed not to increase because of said incident.

I just got off the phone with my agent, and asked for a quote on an 06 busa, and an 06 Harley RK Custom. Rate for a 6 month period was $285 for full coverage with a $500 deductible.

Agent explained that the only 2 factors they look at are the individual, and the engine displacement. He did mention that a turbo-charged bike would be slightly more expensive to insure.

In other words, he said that I could insure a $60,000 Bourget for the same quote I got on the busa.

Same thing happens when you total a bike . They give you the amount that it's worth .......not what you owe . Which means .......you get the green weenie !

I think that you'll find this is the same everwhere .

I had AIG (for a short time) then went to State Farm. Since I had AIG for my autos I figured on staying with them. I got a quote on a 'Busa in 11/05 for around $925 (average/low full coverage). When I decided to buy my '06LE (1/06) I called the day before I was going to pick it up and was told it would cost me approximately $3000 for the same coverage! WTF! Since my status hadn't changed, and the bike hadn't changed the tremendous increase in the price didn't make sense. The person I spoke to had no clue as to why the prices were different. I called twice (tried to get another phone agent) but I got the same person! After calling AIG customer service and politely complaining, I gave up and left a message for a State Farm agent in my area who happened to be open on a Saturday (the day I was planning on picking up my bike). I stopped by the State Farm office, got a much better deal on insurance, then went to pick up my bike.

I get a good rate on my bikes from State Farm. The autos are okay, but not as good as they should be, overall though, I am saving money. My agent will insure the bikes without the autos. Maybe it varies agent by agent (or state by state).

My agent is a bit of a pain in the butt. He's always trying to sell me more insurance. I've had to slap him down a few times.

Yep, we have State Farm for our Busas (only, cars are under AllState). And it's $635 a year, each. We had Progressive for about a month, and it was like $3000 a year for one Busa!

I think it IS agent by agent if they will insure the bike with out anything else. Our agent didn't care. She did a quote on the cars and it was way higher than our AllState so she said "nevermind" and never bothered us about it again.

We had a close friend that was an agent for All State, and I don't know what she did to our contract, but I can't find cheaper car insurance ANYWHERE.. gotta love it

$481 a year for my 06 @ statefarm.
