Intake air control valve in airbox

Hey folks,

Just finished installing the VR stage 1 kit. I didnt see anywhere in the instructions about what to do with the intake air control valve system, once you remove the air box?? Do I still need the actuator in the airbox, or is it removed with the air box? If the actuator within the airbox is removed, where does the vacuum line that went to it go?

I tried pluming this a couple of ways, but all without that actuator. The bike will run for around a minute, then I get a FI alarm. The motor does NOT shut off, so its a sensor within the failsafe perameters, meaning Im quite certain its the IAPS. (intake air pressure sensor). Could someone please shed some light on this. I do not have the "special tool" that the dealers have to get the FI code. I heard you can just jumper the 2 wires together within that plug, but did not get any results from that.

Thanks in advance for your replies!!

Gary

p.s. A big thanks to Dave&Cindy for a PC map, your tuner must have worked his butt off for hours and hours on that!!

Just remove the vac line that went to it and cap off the nipple the hose was on!

To check why the Fi light is on, use the jumper when the light is on with out turning the bike off! See if you can then pull a code.

The paperclip does not work. I am not able to get a code on the display. I will be taking it to a local dealer to try to get the code, and fix the problem, unless someone has a sugestion as to why the fi light would come on after exactly 1 minute of run time, without the motor shutting off.
