ipod

I know some of you guys have ipods. I'm thinking of getting one as my next purchase. I was wondering how the interface is with a computer.

Does it have a special program to upload songs? itunes?

will it let me upload all the music I have on my computer now without buying more?

any other opinions on them? likes? dislikes?

I'm thinking of going with the 15gb version.

I bought the 40gig Creative Labs Nomad Jukebox Zen Xtra. I love it. Very easy program on the computer to drag and drop songs to your player. I have over 700 complete CD's burned to it and it's only a bit over half full.

I got a 40GB Ipod (overkill, I know) and just love the way it interfaces with the computer. Connects by USB (cradle) and comes with its own software and iTunes. Will work with MusicMatch Jukebox as well. I love that you just need to slide your fingers or tap the buttons to control the menu. I've been riding with the Ipod for a while know and just put it in my pocket (make sure you lock the controls), no skips or hesitations. I didn't like the earphones that came with it and instead went for the Sony earbuds and I tell you, my ears don't hurt even on long rides. When the Ipod earbuds came out, I bought it too but the sound quality was bad. Teh unit synchronizes automatically with the computer so your tunes are always updated. It's not bulky like others and relatively light. Now I am looking at hooking up an amp on the bike to boost the sound just a bit more. Hope that helps.

Exactly my thoughts..


Well, since Junbug hit it on the head!

I do use the iTunes to connect (Running Mac) so the second it is connected all songs will update instantly.  Not only does it put the new songs on from your computer, but it also writes to your computer from the iPod. (Ex.  You can rate songs as you go along(5 stars), or change playlists then they will be updated to your computer when connected.)

Touch button interface ROCKS.  Period, mine has yet to glitch or error one time.  And it is used as a work horse(up to 8hrs days on mowers with dirt and grime)  Mine looks horrible, but is 100% sound.

Earbuds stunk, put in trash; bought new set.


Stats:
30GB iPod (way overkill, just get the 15gb(ample)
Usage - 5 days week/ 4-6 hrs a day
Conditions - Rain, Cold, Snow, Heat(Summer Heat), ummm Hail?? jk
Battery - Charged nightly for 4 hours, then ready for the next work day!


Enough. Just go get it, ....(Man I ramble on)

ps - sometime, just sometimes with all of the thousands of songs I have.  I do LOSE music when I seem to want it.  It's in there somewhere, but that is due to dis-organization of the computer.  Oh well, oh where are you song?
