[*]few days go by...... then this..........................

i'm the gentleman in Iraq flying on uh-60
Blackhawks that has an interest in buying a Hayabusa.
Our internet system along with phones where suspended a while due to
security issues.

I have been talking with Harley Davidson (dealer?) on post.
They offer no sales tax, no delivery fees and a percent off purchase price
it is a generous offer however they are not the type of bikes that i'm
looking for, and even there reasonable bikes are some what pricey and come
with one year no resale contracts even if you pay cash.
Would one of our members no if there is a bike dealer in the states that is
interested in helping soldiers with a variety of bike purchases that might
be in the sport bike category.
I looked on e-bay and saw several nice bikes that i would be interested in
however for obvious reasons negotiating for one while here is not practical,

with no way to verify there legitimacy or condition.

[*]sounds like dude is ready to buy, or seriously get some quotes.

anybody know about sending new bikes to that area? I've done autos, but not sure how the bike dealers do it.

it seems that he wants to buy the bike when he's back in the states, no?

or am I reading this wrong... a busa in Iraq would make a cool photo!

By my understanding, he wants to buy a bike when he returns home (hopefully which is soon!) I would love to help! Any ideas on how we can help him out!

he can probably get one out there, but it's gonna cost a pretty penny. The bike just needs to be crated and secured really well (that's gonna be a looong trip).

am I on track?

All he has to do is contact any dealer in the States and get a OTD Price. Contact a shipping company 500 surface-1200 Air Freight for the shipping cost and have it sent to him in Iraq. The bike will need a T-1 Form filled out and the customs folks at his base will be able to do all that. If registered on base no sales tax. Once the loan is approved he will need to have full coverage insurance effective the day of the loan. I recommend the shipping insurance. The local dealer he chooses should be as close to the port as possible, preferably Baltimore but the Baltimore dealerships know that they can increase the OTD price because the buyer will save the shipping cost to get the bike to the port. I got mine out of OH.
If paying cash even better.

Should take 21-26 days to get to Iraq by boat once the bike hits the East Coast Port, 7-10 days if he Air freights the bike over.

thanks pain. thats what I was looking for from the membership....

....not guessing what the dude is doing

http://www.bhy.net/

This link is for a dealer in Oregon that lists the Hayabusa in stock. Oregon has no sales tax. Shipping arrangements may need to be made at purchase time. They are owned by Bob Lamphere.

http://www.rentonmotorcycles.com/ has one on their showfloor in Washington. They are also owned by Bob Lamphere. RMC will probably have a better price than BHY. (Funny that they're owned by the same person)
