Yoshi cans, kn air filter.

Zero maintenance done since 9k miles.

Today rode about a mile and a half. During lunch. It's about 80 outside in SoCal.

Stopped at a red light. Put it in "N" maybe a min or min and a half later, rpm's dropped to zero.

Its happened before on a cooler morning

Idea's? I'm thinking valves.

What services should I have done by now?

Well not oil, I'm a oil changing freak. But thats all I do, is oil changes.

And yeah it always starts back up. Just seems to need to be chocked for longer than before.

My bike was doing the same thing at Hayas in the Hills this year. I'd pull the clutch in and it'd die, no matter what I was doing. So, I let some .Orgsters know at the Zippo factory and it was determined my idle speed had dropped for some reason. I've never had the problem of my idle dropping on it's own. I have a 2005 with 19,xxx miles on the odo.

The idle adjuster is a screw that can and does 'unscrew' with consistant vibration from the bike.
I had to adjust the idle on the ex's 06 every 1000 miles.

Theres no choke, just a fast idle lever.make sure to ride with that off.Sounds like idle to me also but check connections and switches.Could be a faulty shut off switch.

1250? Yeah, it's not that.. What should it be with the choke?

Let me say this again, I was in a rush after my sunday morning routine. And it was not clear

My rpm's should be @ 1250? Dam it''s not @ that right now. Might be @ 800-850. I won't get a chance adjust and ride until mid-week.

In the mean time what should the rpm's be @ when the "fast idle", "enricher plug", "choke" (many many names same basic results) is engaged?

Sry for the confusion! We ride fast bikes, sometimes I need to slow down!

If your idling at 800-850 that is your problem. Adjust idle to 1200 with "ckoke" off and you will be good to go.

Wow your idle is WAY too low. It needs to be around 1250 or else it will stall. I had mine around 1000 and it stalled on occassion.
The "choke" is basically just a second throttle cable that increases your idle for a faster warmup And I doubt it is the same for every bike. It probably increases it by about 1k-1.5k rpm i would think.

NOOB FRAKING ALERT!

but please keep it on the hush hush.

(in whisper voice) where is my idle adjust screw?

(in a quieter whisper voice) can I get to it without pulling the fairings off?

SMDH @ Myself for this one!

With a long screwdriver you can reach it

you can do this mod to make it easier and it's cheap to do also https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/busa-mods/94867-idle-adjustment-mod-pictures.html

The parts to do the mod are all oem the ealier years had this #'s 24, 25, 26, 50 , 51

Honda East of Toledo's 1999 Suzuki Street Bike GSX1300RX HAYABUSA Parts List Honda East board sponsor site Double check with them but I am pretty sure these are the parts or if another member could confirm or contradict me be good too :)

Ohhh man! It's a whole 180 from how it was running.

Idle's so nice. Accelerates ALOT smoother from stops. And stays smooth between shifts.

Thank you all for your help.
