I just received Handlebars, triple tree adapter, bar end mirrors, extra long stainless double brake lines from CloudNine Motorsports. All items were ordered BLACK, even the banjos. I RAN out to the garage and, like a MotoGP pit guy, stripped off the clip-ons and all else, then mounted the bars so I could stand back and imagine the completed profile.
It exceeded my wildest imagination! This black bad boy is going to look SO BUSA AGGRESSIVE I can't stand it....no frills, all business, but not stripped looking, assembeled properly with no Mickey Mouse or short cuts. It's taking awhile but gonna be so worth it!
I know everybody says this but...the pics don't do it justice as in person.
More comin later.

Im scared for the monster you are making Doyle. Sounds like this is going to be a long term project that when done will eat almost anything!

Very interesting Doyle, I thought you were sticking with the clip-ons. I can't wait to see her finished, probably the most I'll ever see is the taillight as usual.

Man that is going to be something I will have to come see in August. Can you tell me the advantage of handlebars over Clip ons? I have ridden both and like the solid feel of Clip ons.

Is it just the angle that allows more upright movement?

Please answer - Perspiring minds want to know.

Bubba, there's a lot of reasons.....

The upright seating position and profile I'm looking for represents to me 1)the "miler" dirt track look 2)the Superbyke look of the 1980's 3)the European streetfighter genre 4)increased leverage for tight handling situations 5)a big powerful supermoto, in your face look 6)quite a bit of addl comfort (especially if I add a quarter fairing) 7)the raw beauty of an "uncovered" Hayabusa and finally.....I have another Busa with clip ons!

Doyle

ps one more thing....don't get me wrong, I love the B King but I believe this is what Suzuki should have done in the first place, this thing is gonna be SO LIGHT, come on Ducati Monsters, lets have a go!

After a lifetime of standards, It feels sooo good to get away from that "comfortable upright riding position".

Will definitly be different. Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

Thank you for the clarification. I have ridden many more miles on handles than clip-ons and I agree the look is much more "In your face" type of Profile when riding hard. The last few days I have been on the wife's Bandit and the upright stance makes you feel bolder and gives an increase in confident street riding.
But since I am now riding harder in the twisties, the lower hump over feel is much better for me.
I love what you are doing and wish I had the time and space to do the same.

This has been a project I have been following since just about the time I joined. Will def keep following it and am looking forward to the finished product w/ much anticpation.

One more thing! I'm so proud of the outcome of this.....in the pic of the right side, notice how the big radiator input nipple has been removed from the FRONT and installed on the REAR of the radiator....so the hose doesn't have to travel below and under the radiator then finally route into the pump behind the cylinders. It will (in stainless steel decor) simply disappear in a few inches directly behind the frame just under the gas tank.
That's what I mean by, "cleaning up the look". Doyle
