Some you may remember me, most prolly won't but I couldn't recover my old login which was Hayabusajay. I have gone full circle in the motorcycle world since my '04 busa. I traded that in on an '07 GSXR1k got strapped for cash and had to sell that to move suddenly to Houston,TX. I've had a couple cruisers and I just can't get my 1st love out of my head. So, now I am back and I was hoping I could probe the membership as the next busa I plan to buy will be lowered, streched, and hopefully turbo. I've been looking at some spots on the internet but haven't been able to find any place that's nearby. So, 1st off anyone know anyone in the Houston area with a rep for building these type of bikes? 2nd, Busa King - Custom Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R Sportbikes and Parts - Build Your Custom Busa has some high claims on his website but is MI. Anyone have any thoughts on this one? 3rd, should I just buy an older model already done up or is the new model worth going '09? Just looking for opinions here. You guys were always great in the past I hope it's still the same here.

Welcome back! :welcome:

Good luck with your search...not my area of experience but I'm sure you'll get tons of great advice here...

Wecome back! I did the same thing with my 2001 busa. Cruisers don't compare once you get the bug your hooked for life. Good luck with your search. I know when I was looking recently,Houston had a lot of nice busas listed on craigslist and cycletrader. Might want to check there.

Ya, Boss, I've been looking around...I'm a bit reluctant to buy from someone without a rep as I have always purchased from a dealer. The last thing I wanna do is drop 30K on a piece..ya feel me? I know most folks take great pride in thier stuff..I am just leaning towards something new. I really like the newer busas. It has taken awhile because I didn't like 'em much at first quite possibly cuz I had the 1k and it had all my attention at the moment..But there is just something about a lowered, streched, turbo busa that words cannot explain. I saw a post earlier with Johnnycheese not sure how old that was but I had visited his shop at one time and thought he was closing down. Is he back open? If so, Austin is not that far to have one of his motors :)

:welcome: Back Brother :cheerleader: My opinion to you would be BUY NEW! Ask just about anyone on here that has went from Gen1 to Gen2, and they'll all tell you the same......NO Comparison! Alot of technology changes in 9 years.
Here ya go,Its not turbo'd, but it is the FASTEST COLOR!

:welcome: back. I'd go '09, but from what I've read from the builders if you tweak it much you'll need to change valves and valve springs. The new head is light weight and can't stand a lot of presure or ponies.

Well, so far the best thing I can find is the guy I mentioned earlier in MI. He says he can build me a 2009 any color and my choice of RC wheels with a 330 rear.8" strech powdercoat not chrome, Lowered,turbo..he claims 330hp at the wheel. And full factory warranty on the whole deal for 30k. Any thoughts?

Thanks again,
Jay

If you go this route be sure to upgrade the chain-especially with a turbo. Read this thread:https://www.hayabusa.org/forum/gen-ii-busa-information/108768-chain-sprocket-issues.html
