If this has already been posted forgive me...I cruise the .org regularly and seen the banter about 1000 cc MotoGP...but on p. 20 Sport Rider mag they state in 2012 they will go to the liter bike to save R&D costs, use some of the components off of regular production bikes, and perhaps allow some of the high tech MotoGP stuff to be used on street bikes...Great picture of "the doctor" in a slide. One of the reasons, noted in the article, they went from the 990 cc down to an 800 cc bike in MotoGP was because of the high speeds and rider safety on the bigger bikes...apparently that became a mute point with Danny Pedrosa, the Spainard, psoting a speed of 214 mph at Mugello in Italy last year on Honda's Repsol 800cc. Some of the other interesting things mentioned were how World Superbike Championship who use production bike racing will feel about the incursion into their turf. Another topic of hot debate is the use of electronic-computer based controls for the bike. Read another article where many of the top racers feel that they should be toned down alot or eliminated.. like I said before, I think "the doctor" could win on a skateboard if that was the format..but I feel "elbows"...it will only enhance his campaigns since it is the platform he has raced for many years...what are your thoughts about this? 2hip
