HP Junkie

after waiting all winter shes finally done. this is my drug fix, 1397 cc 197.1 HP and 111.9lbs tq. i was freakin out taking her out for the first time, just dying to gun it wfo. i know i have to break in the cylinders a few hundred miles but those numbers are only a baseline, i will get a little more power out of her with better gas and a little tweaking. i can say pulling it to 6k feels like 9k it just rips your arms from 3 thousand and up. this was what i was looking for although some might think im crazy. anyway here she is.

Sounds nice.  What do you need all that HP for??

Schweet! I love to eventually do a big bore and get in the neighborhood of 200hp naturally aspirated. Maybe someday I can afford to do that.

That's awesome Junky..........Yer bike is the ultimate sleeper.......you should start street racing for $$$.
Only visible mod being the pipe, and trimmed fender.

Got a few questions for ya.
What kinda pistons did you go with?
Is your head stock?
Are you running a stronger battery/have starting issues?
(very important) Other than the gas milelage suckin', is the bike streetable?
Does it idle rough or load up/stall?
Can you still cruise with it/live with it everyday?
I got my head done w/cams and valves. I makin' slightly more hp but less torque than you are and I'm going with a big bore sooner than I think. I would'a done it all in one shot but I was worried about reliability issues. My builder/tuner said it would be ok I just though some second opinions would be great.

No matter how many tinmes i see a blk/blu I cant get enough!! Sweet ass bike. I also want to know about streetability. I want more power, but i want to keep it streetable! and as little tweability!

i went with JE pistons, had the head done port/polish, springs, web cams(cant remember the duration, i will get it posted soon) ive only ridden her twice so cant say from personal expieriance about reliability but the mechanic i use has done a few with no problems. plus we have the biggest block on a sportbike plenty of wall thickness for 1397 kit. she idles around 1200and has a slightly noisyer loping sound , im liking that! nothing odd about her just how much more i have to hang on.

Cool thanks for the quick feedback. One more, what are you runnin' for oil delivery? Stock pump and gear? Or do you have a hi vol pump/gear?

Starter gear is a must.
Oil gear is recommended.
Windage tray is recommended. I will have 1 for sale soon.
I used the bigger Honda battery and had no problem with starting.
I set my cams at a high number, like Carpenter recommended. That helped the starting too.
A second fan wouldn't hurt. 1 off of a GIXXER 600,750, 1000 will work.
Removing the thermostat helps too.

Oh yeah,
Sorry.
GREAT lookin bike Junkie!

I would love to find 1 of those still new!!!
