Had to run out quick to a box store (Canadian Tire) I'm a regular at to grab something this morning and whilst in line a guy ahead of me saw an opening in another cash so he went there..

I, of course stepped forward-next in line to the cash...I hear something behind me and looked and here is the guy who left saying he was in line and should be next instead of me...

I said "congratulations, now you are behind me-when you step out of line that's what happens" He almost looked like he was going to attack me there for a second...even the cashier stepped back in anticipation...

I told him to reel in his aggression or life could get very complicated for him in a real hurry....he blinked a couple times and wisely stepped back.

I'm normally pretty easy going but something in this guy's demeanor of entitlement got my dander up...

I had a similar conflict in a convenience store a few weeks back. You know how people are social distancing...well we're all standing about 6 feet apart no particular order. You just have to pay attention to who got there first. So I'm standing in clear view with my 6 pack of Twisted Tea while the couple people who were ahead of me check out. This lady comes up and waits then darts in ahead of me and the guy behind me. I did say loudly "Hey I was here first" but the lady didn't seem to hear me. I left it up to the cashier and the cashier picked her. What are you going to do?

...and I don't get the distancing thing if we are all wearing masks...in the beginning the powers to be said we had to distance in places where there were no masks...now that we are all wearing masks the distancing thing makes little to no sense...

This pandemic has brought out the worst in people...now we can see the true underlying belly of what some people are.......Jack-Arses...

I went to another store and when I was almost at the checkout and a lady went whipping by me, hitting my cart with hers just to get in front of me..she said she was in a hurry where I replied "it seems everyone is but if it means so much to you to cut me off just to get the check out first...go ahead."

The cashier was less than impressed with her and was kind of short with the lady...she was golden to me though when I checked out...comforting me by telling me she sees all kinds of idiots these days..

I’d give her a dressing down about courtesy and manners, and a reality check on equality of the sexes.
So many women take advantage of men in this regard, they seem to want it both ways, gets me riled up a little lol.

I find it odd, they want us to open doors and push in chairs yet want to be our equals....can't have it all...

Next thing is we'll be doffing our hats to them on the street..

I guess the moral of the story is to keep away from stores.... get the wife to go and let her deal with these idiots!
:poke:
My wife is at work so I can't justify sitting on my retired arse and not going...

I don't mind most times, I generally get there the minute it opens and am in and out like a groom on his wedding day..

I say hello in passing when I’m walking my doggies... but that’s it, my hat stays on my cranium.
I know the power they wield and the risk of offending them can have dire consequences .
Dangerous creatures at best.

I would have but she was a little up in age. Not elderly but maybe 65. She was in good enough health to dart into the counter though. It's possible she didn't hear me but I'm pretty sure she did. If I'm in this situation again real soon, I'm going to tell each person who walks up who they are behind. Why wait for them to decide? Of course, if they don't pay attention to me, the final decision is up to the checker who probably doesn't give F either way.

The way to deal with these situations is to pull out your phone, hold it up to their ear (they are stuck in a queue after all) and play a recorded message preaching the gospel of Jesus, preferably a Billy Graham crusade excerpt.
They will either love it and engage with you, or hate it so much they will abuse you and leave immediately!
Either way, you’ve done nothing wrong, only tried to impart spiritual help and guidance... can’t be blamed for that. . . Can you?

In today's life format, it's not proper to force any religion on anyone else, that person may not follow a specific faith.

If someone were to do that to me, I'm not exactly certain what my reaction would be as having someone get into my personal space with a phone could be construed as a threat.

One of my buddies was over with his sister in tow not too long ago (no, she isn't pretty) and he was telling me a racy joke he heard...she said "there's ladies present" and he turned to her without missing a beat and said "ladies???, you told this same joke to our other sister yesterday-don't effin lady me..."

I can't even remember the joke as what he said was far funnier....

Not really, there's a distinct difference in spatial awareness there....cutting in line doesn't invade my personal bubble as much as having a phone attached to an arm right in my face...
That's right. Those damn cel phones never practice social distancing. Always up in your face :)
