Is there a way that we could pin a thread or create a member accessible database comprised of members that would be able to post their location, contact information, and their willingness to lend a hand to others? As many members that we have here, it would a a pretty handy tool to have for instances such as what happened with 84ninja today.

The VROC(Vulcan Riders and Owners Club) website has a database with that information available as an updated email, sent to the participants. It lists the info you stated as well as if you are able to supply tools, trailer, overnight lodging, etc....all related to emergencies and/or road breakdowns. It would be a good idea here although I'm not sure how or who would manage it.
 
Since it takes me seven hours to get out of the durn state as long as they are in South Florida we'll be ok.
I'm in.

Instead of 'Officer down' we can have a 'Busa down', calling all riders.....
 
This would be geared more towards emergency help such as pick up a rider and bike, place to stay this night, etc.....
 
I think I recall a few years ago someone put a list together or was trying to. I don't remember what happened to it. Maybe a mod could shed some light to the out come of that list.
 
that would be nice.....i'm down wit that....i live in LA and i would like to meet other members that are close to me.:thumbsup:

I think I suggested that a few years ago. It was picked apart and shot down in flames.

Something about Billy Busa getting your contact info and sending you a Gay O Gram.
 
Im near Reading, berks county, PA. Always willing to lend a hand to fellow riders in need. Tools trailer parts whatever i can help with.

To RacerV's credit, he offered me a place to stay on my way home from the Bash, I was just to far north to take him up on the offer.
 
With as big as the org is Im sure it would come in handy alot. Good way to get trustworthy help as well. We all have emergencies and sometimes no way out... I think its a great idea!

Just start a thread with your name address and phone info.

Problem is everybody has access. Can call you anytime. Then when you post your gun pics they know what you got. Then when you post your vacation plans or road trips they know when your not home.

Well intentioned but has it's risks.
 
what about starting something up like a blackberry group, now I know not everyone has one that's why I'm also suggesting something like live profile LiveProfile - Stay Connected or KIK Kik Messenger | Free real-time texting for all or Whatsapp WhatsApp Messenger that works on all smart phones. I don't know much about those apps but I know that for a blackberry group you can set a custom ring tone so you know what it could be about. If people are using it for S.O.S. calls I can't see it being annoyingly busy.
 
There is the google map thing going around that some, not all, members are using for traveling purposes. They only have a dot near the location of where they are not an actual address or phone number. You could use that though to at least know if someone is close to you so that you could send them a Pm or to better plan your route. If you knew someone that was going to be in the direction you are traveling, you could get there number ahead of time.

I like this idea better then having a database. especially when non members can see what we post or read our profiles.
