This post is for the members as well as the advertisers on the site....

This site cannot be manipulated and we have not and will not offer exclusive deals to advertising companies. I have a fine line that I must walk with folks that advertise here, I have a need to keep them happy and bring in traffic and customers to their websites. At the same time I need to keep the product offerings competative for the members. It's a balancing act, competition drives prices down. I cannot be bought out in a way that would block other companies from selling the same product on the site. If a company makes a better widget then folks with buy it, if the product quality is the same then the price and customer service will usually drive a buyer one way or the other.

There are sites that are out there that will put the block up and make sure that a company has exclusive rights to a board. I will not delete post that are against a company unless it becomes profane or is obviously an attack. Common sense prevails !!! Live or die by the board has always been my belief.

We have many advertisers on the board and its great that 99% of the time that they all agree or at least agree to disagree and go their own way. Advertisers can reap great rewards from the members of this site because the members are looking for quality products. At the same time the members can get some great deals from some fantastic companies.

This place has come a long way and I have great plans for all here...

Great philosophy for the org...that's why I so enjoy buying from our sponsors. Raydog

You have always been fair Doug. One thing I would add is that whenever possiable, I try to buy what I need from a site sponsor, even if I can get it a little cheaper somewhere else. I understand that it is through their support of hayabusa.org that I have a way to learn about my bike, keep in touch with my friends, make new friends and keep entertained! Thanks to all the sponsors for your support!

+1 and it gives a second line of support when things go wrong..

I had a thread about my bike budget this year and I found that 60% of my budget went to board sponsors. And with only 1 exception, the purchases were exactly as I hoped the would be..

Not sure how much the guys here spend on their bikes but I handed several thousand over to sponsors this last riding season. I think they like to protect that kind of income where they can..

Great job on the site Doug!

Thanks Cap for your fine words. Well spoken. I been here for a while and the site has always operated honestly and fairly. Keep up the great work you have alwasys done with site. Thanks

Doug, you have done an outstanding job providing a service to all of us, both sponsors and members.

Sometimes things just don't work out. It happens. Thanks for keeping a fair operating standard. To that Sir, I commend you.

I haven't been around here long but I could not be more impressed with the integrity, and friendliness of this org. I for one am looking forward to spending $$$ w/ these sponsers. They deserve it. I have already started looking at what ea. has to offer. I GUESS YOU COULD CALL IT WINDOW SHOPPING.

I love spending $ on my baby and there is no better place to spend it than w/ a sponser of my favorite website EVER.

kudos to you Doug! Not enough good things could be said about you and this org.

Even though I no longer have a Busa, I STILL come to this site to look for sponsors that carry what I am needing for the other toys. This site was a great help to me and the best way i can say "thank you" is to continue to support it.

Thanx Cap! Question for you out of curiosity, Do you run this site in your spare time or is it a full time job for which is providing your income. Don't answer if that is too personal. Thanks!

My full time job consumes about 70 - 80 hours a week, I kid you not.... This site started out as a simple place for me to work on some new technologies. I needed a domain name and I bought it.... Since then we added a gallery, chat, email and finally a message board. Fortunately I have some fantastic admins that work tirelessly on the site with me. I would say that I put in about 30 hours a week working on things on this board... The other admins do the same, changing screen names, editing post, answering questions, unlocking accounts you name it..... My vision for this site has always been to have enough companies advertise that it paid for itself and also for the upgrades as needed... Financially the site is doing fine, would I like to have more money, sure.... Think about what we could do with more money.... HOWEVER I will not risk what we have now in an effort to make the site a paid forum or anything like that. We have found a sweet spot with the members, meaning that we provide the place for you to call home and you guys all interact. The site is made up of a large number of mature men that are older than most sport bike enthusiast and have a common respect for each other... I have seen other websites grow to fast and while they may come on strong and seem like they have it all together they grow too fast and churn membership and fail to provide that comfort zone that most appreciate. That is one reason that we try to roll change out around here very slowly and methodically.

I would love to be able to make this my primary income, can you imagine that guys... Getting to interact with you all on a daily basis and get paid for it. Going to the bash and Eureka as a business trip, how fantastic would that be... Unfortunately we dont bring in nearly what most people think that we do every month...... Our advertising rates are very very affordable..... In time the membership will find out about decisions that we have made concerning the site and I think that you all will see the dedication and sincerity that we have to you the members and the advertisers.

Hope that answers your question...
