Let's start with the mass production of robots! May I add humanoid robots oooooooooo. Makers of Sophia the robot plan mass rollout amid pandemic

Second sounds like the covid vaccine isn't going to work for the new strains like we hoped.

The reddit users that sunk a bunch of short sellers they are also flooding a bunch of other brands like nakd etc

I forgot to add walmart is also moving to robots this year for shipping! Walmart to build more robot-filled warehouses at stores

I welcome the advent of companion androids. To be 100% honest, at my age, finding a human companion is about as likely as finding a needle in a haystack and twice as boring. ...like, if you find a needle in a haystack, who cares ? !! I wish I could have been born a hundred years later so the art of the android was perfected and affordable.

You won't need to worry about catching Covid from your android either.

Have you not seen 'Terminator' . . . these android 'companions' do not have a heart, they will not want you out of a free will, they don't have a 'free will'.
And what do you think will happen to them once they start getting their 'updates' from the manufacture/designer?
Maybe they will stop being so 'nice' to you.

Why not get a ChatBot? Here a new article about it, you can actually turn your self into one right now actually.

This is microsofts ver sounds like they are backing out but there is alot of people doing it right now as we speak.

I think you meant Blade Runner which I've seen also. That's a great movie! So far we've avoided the worse case scenario with our technology. I think we'll keep it under control. I have a hunch that "consciousness" and "life" might be understood and recreated by science. Being a conscious human might not be as mysterious as it has always seemed to be. Electronics is after all, what a brain is. I think we're not far away from duplicating and transferring human brain functioning through electronics and when we do that, humans and computers will meld. We may develop AI to the point that it starts to evolve with us. That could be the link that assures human coexistance with AI, we will be one and the same. Humans will make life that needs us (hopefully for more than generating electricity) and we'll make ourselves God. I'd say in about a hundred years? I'll be gone but my grandkids.....might live forever. Or will AI find it's creator unnecessary and destroy it before Judgement Day ? Whoaaaa Heavy stuff, man.

That's a good start! Maybe they will have home androids that you can upload your chatbot to before I get to old to do more than chat. :D

@Mythos all of that is true the problem with mixing A.I and humans or transferring our data to a computer is it can be corrupted/hacked or viruses, large corporations can do as they please who own the technology. There is also an interesting theory of making A.I if we make a perfect A.I it would prove that we could be a by product from something or someone else that was more advanced than us, it would also be the final nail in the coffin for most religions. We will have to do a mass population purge if we want more A.I's and live forever, there will simply be not enough work for anyone unless the goverments do the great reset and make people survive off of a goverment universal income.

Saw a program on the Discovery channel where Japan has a hotel run by AI...you can check in with a Velociraptor if you want......and AI bots take your bags to your room.

Not for me, I like to deal with real people (most times).

I'd be concerned about uploading my brain to a computer right now for all the reasons you just mentioned. Then again, if the only other option was certain death, I might just chance it like the people who put themselves into cryogenic sleep. In a hundred years, computers will be so efficient that they might be impervious to cyber attacks and malfunctions. As for tyrants, they have always been among us and they've always used whatever technology that was available in their attempts to dominate the world. Technology has also been used to oppose them. It might seem that some limit would need to be established in order to sustain cybernetic life from resources that exist on earth. However, if you consider that no one will need to eat and transportation and housing will be of minimal importance to a machine body, the only byproducts of existance will be whatever pollution is created from generating power to run those bodies. Generating power will continue to become more eco friendly and it seems sad to say but a machine body might not even need what we consider a healthy environment today. There's a huge amount of unused land and land that is uninhabitable to human bodies on the surface of the earth.....and in the oceans. Not only that, there are nearby planets that a machine could exist on. Matter of fact, I don't even see there being a need for space to exist in. All the brains that ever were could exist in a very small space on this planet in virtual reality for all of eternity with an infite capacity to store more. Whether we're all machines that last forever or if we only exist in digital form in virtual reality, there will be no need to reproduce. The last human to die will be the last to be reborn. Overcrowding problem solved.

On a darker note, if the consciousness of 10 billion humans were to be caused to last forever in perfect virtual bodies in a perfect virtual world, how long would we want forever to last? Would each individual be able to terminate their own virtual existence? If not, would we all eventually go insane or would there be some way to avert insanity? If we eventually all terminated our existence as virtual beings, we would have eliminated ourselves and maybe we would discover there is a God out there after all.
