K&N Filter and Airbox ?

Can anyone shed some light on K&N new products for the Busa?

I think on the one list there was mention of a new filter and airbox for the Busa from K&N.

All I know is that the local aftermarket shop (cycle gear) still doesn't know a thing about K&N'busa air filters. It's starting to sound like K&N is getting greedy and wants to sell us the whole wad for the trust fund busaboys. If they keep this up I'll just mod airbox myself and buy grossly overpriced Yosh (bmc) filter)

turbo,

you gained 4hp from the bmc alone? Or was that bmc with air box mod? What other mods were in place at the time? How did you map the bike to get 4hp? If I can get 4 horse for 52.50 i'm ready to order a bmc right now!

it was with the airbox mod. i dynoed it with the stock airfilter after the mod and then i dynoed with the bmc. i'm not sure what the yosh box setting were but now i have a pc2. but just filter itself was +4 hp.

I'm waiting on the K&N stuff too, but their silly website makes it impossible to get any info out of them.

I won't go for the BMC because a member here did a proper dyno on one and didn't get anything out of it.

Meanwhile I'm fully airbox moded and patiently waiting for K&N news, too.

OK on the reco of Turbo, Factory and Jeffw I ain't waitin' fer K&N no more. I've just ordered up my BMC.

Thanks for the legwork and your thoughts guys. Man I love this site!

Factory,
OK. I'm going to order the BMC. Anyone have any guidelines on how much to increase the fuel with the PC2 map after installation? or do I have to fork out more money for dyno time (not).

Marc from Factory said he saw 4 hp on his dyno (yes they make the dynos). If Marc said that, then it's so.

I deal with Marc all of the time in AMA racing, our bike gets tuned on his dynos, my *** is in a picture on the Factory web site.

My point, BMC will give you a hp increase. Sure K&N will, just as soon as they release a product.

One additional thought on air filters, during the Suzuki Cup finals at Road Atlanta, to try and make the field even for all riders they dyno your bike and it must be under 125 rwhp (on a dynojet dyno). This was for the 750 class. We noticed that on back-to-back dyno runs, that the K&N filter, gave us less hp than a stock filter.

Now, I'm not saying that all K&Ns are this way, it was just our experience on our race bike.
