K&N vs BMC

I did a lot of inquiries on this and it was nearly 100% vote for the BMC race filter. So, that is what I got. In fact, at SH.org, many folks claimed the K&N was WORSE than the factory filter for flow.... I say BMC, but I have no dyno results to prove it, just info from fellow Busa'r's...

As an ignorant rider, tell me what the value of a good filter is? How will the bike behave differently with BMC vs stock?

better air flow to the engine keeping it cool. better gas milage so theres less strugle on the engine, also keeps the power band "fresh"

I always liked the BMC before i wnet Turbo. The BMC makes 2 filters for the Busa.

1. Open free flowing for stock
2. Race flow.

the race flow will require some minor adjestments. I used the Free Flow with 4

1:2 HMF pipes, helped to get about 172 hp to the wheels.

What kinda adjustments Ninja Eater? I am running the race filter with a Muzzy full system and a PCII. I really need to get it dyno-tuned... something I am missing?

Just my .02 cents

When I used to hang around the track all the racers swore by the BMC for whatever bikes they ran.

Eeeking every last HP out, I guess the BMC is good for a couple.

On the dyno with some motor work I got no change with K/N, 3 hp with BMC, and 5 hp by removing my air filter and covering the air box.
