I would like to know as well. I haven’t bought one yet, but I’ve been looking at them. The concept sounds good in theory, but does it really give you the level of protection they claim?

You will get bruised up in a fall of course, but if you've ever tried cutting Kevlar "fabric" with sheers it aint gonna happen..I would only imagine they would take the road rash extremely well.

My understanding is that it ages and is weakened by moisture. Do more research. It's probably a good product, but see if it's certified for five years, and if it's cert goes away went moisture comes into play.

Its bound to be better than cotton but what if it is? It still has no armor so all its good for (is) road rash.

I tried on the black version from them at Daytona (bike week), they were like $70 at the track event. Kinda heavy like a really good sweatshirt, got warm quick, I bought jeans from them and was gonna get the shirt up at Americade but they were not there... The stuff is itchy without something under it which is just gonna add to the heat and weight but I'd skip the leather coat if I was wearing the shirt.

Good luck, I'm gonna buy one at some point.

Apparently you can buy the armor separately. In their FAQ they warn you to remove the armor before washing. I would do the research. Bottom line - something is better than nothing.

It's not gonna do any good when it rides up your back and arms from road friction.

Guess you have to make sure you're sliding headfirst...

Besides, assuming by some miracle it DOES stay in place, can you imagine what temperature Kevlar reaches after about 20 feet of sliding?!?
