Keyless Gas Cap

Has any one found or know of a Company making a keyless gas cap for the K8's yet THAT actually FIT'S? I already bought one off an e-bay store that was "supposed" to fit.......BUT nope! DIDN'T even come close, ended up selling it to a buddy with a Gen1 busa(bolted right on)
Is it me or is anyone else having problems with the aftermarket world parts fitting the K8? So far i've bought two set's of lever's.....it hit the inner plastics so bad i couldn't lock the steering(yes i tried adjusting them) And now this cap, doesnt even come CLOSE to fitting!!! Its like these companies are using there customers for R&D, "Opppps rolled the dice on that guy, guess it was different then Gen1's"..........WTF?

I just had the same problem with an upper tripple clamp. So I will be going with the Exoticycle.

Try Vortex.com. These guys make some cool aftermarket caps. We have them on all the race bikes and the fit is perfect.

I thought there were problems with vortex caps... i remember something about an aftermarket keyless cap that didnt allow air to replace the used gas causing a starvation issue... dont recall the name but thought it was vortex. It was a while back though... Any how... dont think i'd want to go with a keyless cap these days as gas is a bit of a premium with the prices being so high and all. Invitation for a thief...

They more you look at the K8, the more changes you will find, some for no apparent reason.

The Vortex cap just needs a small vent hole drilled in it.. we do it on all of them. .035 will work. EZ to do. the only thing that makes them tough is fine threads., take ur time threading them on.

VERY NICE, guess i will give vortex a call......even though votex was one of the brands of lever's i tried! I see the difference now your cap(08) has 3 bolts......The one i bought( suppose to fit K8) had 4 bolts.....Gen1! Thx for all the info Fella's

Scare, Ya brother....they been cool about it, offering my $$$ back....but thats NOT what i want! I want the damn part to fit what they claim it'll fit its like i mentioned earlier, "its almost like there using "the customer" for there R&D work", And thats just plain in my book....feel me?

I dont understand the desire for this mod. Why when gas prices are going up would you want to take the lock off?

I understand it, the gas cap lock is a great idea, if only they made two changes.

1. Able to close it after opened - without a key.

2. Ability to unlock it and leave it unlocked.

Kinda picky but since the subject came up.

The keyless cap does look good.

It's all about what a person likes.

It's not so much as lockig it to keep people from taking your gas,

as pesky folk who might want to add something to your gas to hurt you and the machine...???

I've been an leo here in middle Georgia for a while and there is no way in hell I'm taking the locking cap off of mine. Not because I think all people hate cops but there are some real a-holes around here that would mess it up because they don't have one. I can barely park it and walk away for more than a few minutes.
