Hi, I have a '99 busa engine fitted in an autograss race car. I recently had a clutch failure where one of the friction plates shattered.
I've taken it apart, cleaned out all of the bits in the sump, fitted new friction plates and steels and put it back together. Whilst at it I also serviced the slave cyclinder and replaced the master cyclinder (which is obviously on a clutch pedal rather than lever)
It all seems fine except when I fully depress the clutch in neutral - I get a knocking noise. It doesn't do this if I slowly ease the clutch in. Similarly, it doesn't do this if its in gear. It just does it in neutral.
I'm thinking I probably just need to adjust the pedal a little to stop it "over engaging" but wanted to check this doesn't sound like anything more serious?
