LED Headlight Conversion

I looked. But you would have to cut your rubber cover over your bulbs to fit that heat sink. I personally decided to let it be.

***edit I didn't measure. But I'm pretty sure you would have to trim.

I installed that kit on my 06 couple of weeks ago. Actually "we" Twotonevert did most of the work. It's NOT 100% plug and play. The rubber dust/moisture boot behind the build had to be cut to allow the wiring that comes off the new bulb to fit so that the bulb was seated flush in the receptacle. Also the main power connector pins do not line up correctly with the stock bulb connector. In our case we made a jumper between the 2 plugs so the bike side plug is untouched. The power supply we cable tied to the air duct out of the way. To access we removed the windscreen and insturument cluster. All total I think it was less than a hour to install due to having to building the jumper. Huge difference over the stock bulb. Haven't ridden very much at night with it but the little i have it does seem to project very well down the road. Compared to Twotone's 09 with the Phillips bulb (i think) seems equal but haven't done an actual side by side comparison. Longevity of the LED might be its biggest asset when compared to say a Phillips type bulb.

Thanks, so what I'm hearing is it's about as bright as a upgrade halogen but not as bright as HID setup.

Bennies are standard startup procedure, longevity.

Drawback is if it does die you are out around 60 bucks, and I have seen LED bulbs die in home lighting setups.

Looks like I'll wait until my freshly installed silverstar craps out and go this route.

Keep in mind that price said intro price. It may go up.

The new GTR Lighting LED headlights are the most sophisticated LED headlight replacement kit that has ever been seen! We use a dish reflector around the LED chips to produce a great beam pattern.

The speedmetal versions look exactly the same as the ones you posted.

Any update on this? Installations? Brightness?

Thinking of getting an LED headlight to replace the HID that was flaking out on me. Don't want to go back to halogen and had too many headaches with starting voltages with HID.

Seems like a good idea...but those reviews have me worried.

Think I will stay on halogen for now:dunno:

Eesh... yeah, don't think I want to go from a flickering HID to a flickering LED.

Have a few months before I'm back home, so still have time for more research.
