LED or H.I.D.?

i want your input... i recently did the 120 led switch back mod and i want to match the headlight to the same color...ish ...

i was browsing thru the forums and saw something about

Hayabusa switchbacks - YouTube[/url] thats what it looks like now... i want to make it more the same color...

my question is what is better? and where can i buy led headlights??? also the how long does it take to turn the hid bulb on? is a 55 watt to much for low beam? and what color should i get? 5000k???

not aware of anyone who makes a dedicated LED headlamp. plenty of corny LED lights around the headlights but no LED headlamps.

PFC, I'm looking to do the same thing with my switchbacks.. I was told that the switchbacks are roughly about 6,000K. I upgraded to 4,100K but still to yellow. Some websites actually show the color grades of their OEM replacement bulbs. You don't need HID's to match the color.

Harley Davidsons actually are using LED's to project light. No if your asking for a direct fit for your model bike no. Modifications will have to be made... LED's are far better then haolgen, xeon, and HID's its a fairly new technoligy. It will be the thing I garuntee within 5 years. HID will be a thing of the past just as Haolgens are now.

Here is a link kind of old but these guys are electronic savey and understand drivers, mah, circuits etc.

that is AWESOME!!!!! i wish he had them for sale.. i would totaly buy one,

but for whats readibly avalable... is a 55 watt low beam to much? should i just go with the 35 watt one? ive seen the difference between stock and H.I.D. and i defiantly want something brighter, not just something that is the same color as the led switchbacks...

and i know you can buy colored xenon bulbs for like 25 shipped to your door, but i have had those on one of my cars .. and they SUCK!!

i ride at night, often, we ride all hours around here... in the summer our bikes are our main form of transportation... we ride roughly 250 miles one way (for work) from albany ny to fort drum (im in the national guard full time) at least once a week and then when we are there we only have our bikes to get around...


what i plan on doing with the H.I.D is wiring it up with a relay the one with 87a pin on it, wire up a little LED to the second leg of the relay.... wire up the headlight to the other ... with the LED being on the normaly on side of the relay (so i know if my headlight is on) with a switch to close the circut to switch from head light off (LED ON) to headlight on (LED OFF) so that i can use my switchbacks (wired with relay to come on when bike is on) as my running light because there has to be some light in teh front of the bike at all times, and when i dont have a use for the headlight and since the H.I.Ds have a 3000 hour running light i figure if it dont need the light till dusk than why have it on if it isnt illegal to have off?
