So I just got a 01 busa it has some extras and such, It was from a used car dealer and I think the bike was repoed. So they didn't know much about it. So I look on CL around where I got at and there is the add, wants 5k for it and says he needs to sell quick. So I'm guessing he couldn't pay it got repoed and I got it for short $$. After looking it over I found it has a led (under glow?) kit on it ( not really my thing) but heres the thing.. I have no clue how to turn them on. It also has a bestom USA switch the controles blue and green lights in the dash.

Not trying to be a a$$ but pictures would work wonders for your question. In the case of LED's there is either a remote or a toggle switch somewhere. Not hard to have one installed. You can purchase the switch from autozone if they lights still work.

Can post a pic in the AM. Do most run right to the bat? If I pull off my bodywork and trace them to the power does it have the switch befor or After?

be careful when you pull bodywork, never know what wires the previous owner taped to what. may be a good idea to do some familiarization with the bike too. pull the panels, see what's where, check the oil, etc. but yea, trace the wires and see where they go. also, nobody checks in here without pix, it's the :rulez:

Take off your seat, you will see the wires going to the battery. There should be one coming from the terminal that is thicker than the rest and SHOULD have an inline fuse, follow that to your switch.

It's going to be somewhere in reach of the rider while they are on the bike, so they can it them going down the road.

heres some pics. 3 wires come out of the black box one white ( its cut) and a black and then a red, the black and red have battery ends on them. can't find a switch anywhere. nothing is hooked up as far as i can see. what do you thin?

either an alarm, or a wireless switch for your lead's. that white wire may be an antenna. have you put fresh batteries in the remote yet? if not, throw some freshies in there, turn your key to acc (or on, just don't start the bike), and start hitting buttons. see what's up.

the bats in the remote are good ( it has a power light on it) but the LED's aren't hooked up to anything ( no power) and i haven't tried to hook them to the bat yet as I'm freaked i will F something up and cook my electrical system.

Get 9v battery and touch the wires to it to see if you get anything. Wont hurt your bike, but will be able to see if the lights work. red +, black-, white if you have to if nothing happens with the other 2 wires. White could be a switch wire. remote was probaly on bike to just reach and change on the fly. Looks like multicolored or different effects like strobing,delay,etc..Try 9v, will be easiest.

awesome!!! it worked with the 9v. and it is that remote. so now i can just hook them up to the bikes bat? and it won't over power them and cook them or anything? ( as you can tell i know nothing about this)

Put them on the terminals and your good to go. You have an inline fuse that comes off the + lead and it will pop if any irregularities in voltage happen, instead of the LED's. They draw little power and you will be fine. Be careful riding at night with them on its illegal in some states, unless its a harley for some reason. ??? Make sure the extra length of wire is secure and out of the way and ride on !

looks like in maine it is illegal. they are red and that doesn't help... but i will ask my friend that was a cop what he thinks.

It still looks cool though going down a dark strip of road and switch them on. My Kawi had 60 some green ones and it looked like a spaceship going down the road.

There are some ways to get around that being illegal. In Oregon you can't have red or blue if you can see the light, but if its "glow" then you can get away with it. Still get hassles though.

You could do 100 or so amber ones and connect to turn signals so the whole bike flashes when turning..lol:thumbsup:
