Lets talk fork springs

Hey All. After reading the Jinkster suspension thread and attempting to adjust mine, I quickly came to the conclusion that my front fork springs are shot. Which isn't all that suprising since the Busas got about 86,000 miles on her, and hard miles at that. basically the front end dives pretty bad and doesn't rebound much at all. And it feels very bouncy on rough roads because of this.

Figure with gear on I weigh in right around 210 lbs. my annual weight variance varies between 190 and 205 (i work in the restaurant industry, my wieght fluctuates alot) I use the Busa for commuting and twistie road riding. what would be a good spring to look at? Progressive rate springs obviously (assuming this based on my offroad knowledge) but who makes em and wheres a good place to get em? what weight fork oil? etc?

thanks in advance for the help guys

GP Suspension is what I currently have on the Busa, spring rating of .95...I also have GP Suspension valving, more adjustable if I remember correctly. I had Dave C. over at Crash Damage Repair rejuvinate my suspension. Matter of fact, when I had my Busa over at his shop, he was working on CycleWorlds GSXR 1k for one of their featured articles, I think it may have been this months current issue. You may want to give him shoot, he'll break it down to ya...

Axxion AK-20 here as well up front and Penske three way adjustable in the rear. Spec for my rider weight 215lbs. $2200 for the set-up I got and worth every cent. You can install it yourself or send them your front forks and they will do it for you $150.00. The rear is a bolt on pretty easy work. If you do the fronts yourself order all the extra tools if you don't have them already.

so I looked uo the Traxxion kit today.

anybody got any solutions that won't cost a grand?? I know the Busa is a high end and exspensive bike, but my roomate was able to replace the fork springs and rear shocks on his Shadow 1100 for under 500 bucks!

Big difference in the performance of a shadow and a Hayabusa. You get what you pay for. Cheap means you usually have to do it twice once now and once when it breaks or fails to do the task. But if you are not a big twisty carver and just flat road it all the time don't waste the money.
