left me in a somewhat of a "Precarious" position as follows...

we had all just topped off our tanks and were grouped up at the lot exit in preparation to leave the gas station by making a right onto a major highway...

with a clear road the lead rider took off as several of us followed suit and just as I left from a dead stop I simultaneously went to move my feet to the pegs and laid my bike over into an extreme hard right and there's where I encountered somewhat of a dilemma as...

This is new gear...and I'm accoustomed to what I usually wear..jeans...OUTSIDE my boots...but of course my new HRX pants are a full race sort of outfit and are designed to be worn zipped at the ankle and INSIDE my boots...and what happened is this...

I was in a hard right from a dead stop and the freaking right side peg feeler hooked into the top of my new boot disabling me from being able to get my right foot to the peg...in a hard lean right...as my foot couldn't go up and didn't dare "go down".

It didn't click with me right away as to wtf was hanging up my foot until I looked down and saw that the d@mn peg feeler had the top of my boot hooked like a large mouth bass..which under the circumstances...."suxed".

I rolled off the throttle till the others passed and managed to recover by leaning the other way to un-hook by boot and it all went un-noticed however...I wanted to share this with ya'll so the same don't happen to you and...

What year is the third busa to the right in the second photo? It sure looks a lot like my 03 black/grey with black slip ons and smoked double bubble? What a beautiful looking machine

I just got the same pair of SIDI's in the mail today

I too, never have ridden with boots over pants, but the reverse... Thanks for the heads up!  The stock peggs can cause the same shid I would suspect

Darn. I guess that's reason enough to hack to peg feelers off. They remind of the curb feelers that lots of cars had on them back in the 60' & 70's.

I believe it's an '01 model...it's also mildly turboed with a stretched swingarm that doubles as the air resivoir for his air-shifter...and since you seem to like it so much?...here's a few more pix of it...

ROF....you don't hafta "HACK" them off...a 10mm socket and ratchet does the trick...I removed mine immediately afterwards.

Glad you kept calm and got it resolved without incident

I had the laces of my work boots get caught like that one day. It's a scary feeling until you realize what's happening.

Thanks for the heads up. Really glad your are O.K.

The gear looks great!

Thanx for sharing.........my feelers are now safely stored in a drawer along with the reflectors.
Along this same train of thought, I'm assuming that all you guys that might ride with footwear that have laces DO tuck them into your shoes/boots? Had a friend once that caught a show lace loop around the shift lever and ended up laying his bike down while stopped at a stop light. Embarrassing and costly, to say the least.

Had the feelers off the bike for about 2 months now. I tuck my laces but of course they got caught... which prompted the removal. I honestly don't understand why they put the freaking things on there in the first place?!

They are kinda like a warning device. They are letting you know that hard parts are dragging next.

That engineer should be shot!

Why not create a feeler that's contoured so things wont catch on it, has a bolt mounting through it so it can be replaced, and is otherwise semi-attractive on the bike?!

Was that like a 10 pound largemouth and did it get away? Glad to hear it worked out for ya Jinks. Same thing has happened to me just not in a hard turn.
