I'm trying to install license plate bolt lights. I never had a light before so I'm not sure what wires go to what? The bolts have a black wire and a red/black wire coming from the back. I attached a pic of the wires in the bike. I want to hard wire these lights but I'm not sure which one they go to? I've tried searching and people say diff things. Can someone help?

ImageShack Links Do Not Work

I will guess that the black is the cathode or negative and the b;ack/red is the anode or positive. Not gonna pull the schematic again. You should have a wh/black wire, it's the ground or negative for every light in the rear from memory. The other wire will be the positive. If you have a meter you can test the wires before hooking them up. An LED is forward biased and will not work if polarity is reversed, again from memory. It's as simple as swapping the wires.

Ok cuse it's a wiring harness In the bike that has a brown wire, white/black and black/white. My pic didn't seem to upload. I was told that the brown was the running lights and this is what the red/black wire should go to?
