Lime spots on tank

Hi guys. I had water drip on my paint (in an underground garage) and it dried and left lime residue on it and it won't come off! I am sure it is lime because it is white and came from concrete. Does anyone know the best way to remove this residue without scratching the paint? I tried to use vinegar, to no avail. Thanks if you reply!

If it's just a mineral deposit you should be able to safely remove it with a clay bar. Go here to get a clay bar. You might also find Clay Magic clay bar kits at your local auto supply stores.

If clay won't take it off, the paint may be either stained or etched. That could requirre anything from a mild abrasive polish to a repaint to totally get rid of it. Try the clay first and if that doesn't work let me know. I can suggest some good mild abrasive products and some techniques that might help. ;)

You really need to stop doing tequila shots off the top of your tank. :D

j/k - BT has the answer as usual.

:tounge: Funny stuff.

Thank you BulletTrain. Lets see what happens with the clay bar. I appreciate your help!:)
Glad you're not holding anything against me (unless this clay stuff kills my paint job! (j/k)

You can also use a ""paint cleaning polish" product by Meraglaze ,it is very effective in removing water spot ,gas stains etc.  This is the first step polish I use before detailing  my vehicles.

It's all good. No reason to hold anything against anybody. Life is too short for that crap. ;)

I posted the link to Zaino's site because I had the link. I don't know where to buy Clay Magic brand clay online. As I mentioned, you can probably find it at your local auto parts stores. :D

As long as you don't get some sort of grit on/in the clay it will not harm your paint. It's perefctly safe when used right and kept clean. ;)
