Have delt with hundreds of batteries in cars and bikes.2003 busa is the 1 st time ive owned a l ion battery.
paid 4x as much for it than a standard battery. Going down the road lost all power and alotta smoke coming from under the seat.
Battery caught fire big time nothing left but pieces melted thru the battery box down to the shock .What a mess hopefully no damage to electrical.

Hope no 1 else has had the same issue

My only complaint with one was that it was too expensive and didn’t deliver four times the value. Didn’t last four times longer either, or even 2-3 times longer.

Just as an aside, my ‘18 Kawasaki is still running its OEM non ion battery. I think I’m on my third, maybe fourth battery on the Busa but it’s over 18 years old.

battery knocked out the following
no fuel pump, starter, low beam, horn,
regulator over charging 16v at fast idle straped down so didnt rev it up
starts up FI ON need to check codes

Hopefully it just got your fuses and relays, and did no further damage.

Geez
U know I see Rick rectifiers sells two different parts, one for lithium one for regular acid/gel batteries.

I’ve only had one lithium on a streetbike, as stated above price just wasn’t worth it. Got em in the race bikes tho

On or off should make no difference. Mine required a different charger than my Deltran I use for my AGM batteries.
