Agustas, the worst money ever spent! a friend of mine bought one, says its a gutless wonder, so he rides his ducati instead....
i owned a 00 duc monster 900
i thought that was a guttless wonder and a expensive bitch to ge fixed at that.

question?
why are all these Eye-Tilan bikes so expensive and guttess at the same time.

BTW
my ridding buddy has a aprila mile 00 (15k miles)
he spent about 2500 last summer on maitnence and fixing things that broke, and he dont even walk wheeles or do burnouts or any thing like that he's pretty nice to it.

Those things are freaking schweeeet! Now if Suzuki would just take a few lessons from MV regarding quality welds, attention to detail, treating the bike as a whole instead of a bunch of parts bin parts I would be really happy.

It's kinda like buying a Ferrari folks, it may not be the fastest, it may not be the best handling but there is something else. Exclusivity, the desire to ride a performance machine that you wont see around every corner, you know... style. I mean the newer vettes are more than enough to hand many Ferraris their Asses in a basket but that is really not the sum total of the experience. It's the sounds, the smells, and the way it feels on the road and the beauty of the thing. It's the passion of the engineers and designers that come through in these machines in a way no Japanese Bike ever will, accept maybe our beloved Busa a little bit. But the Busa needs to be sent an Italian finishing school to get the details worked out.

There is more to life and certainly a whole lot more to riding than absolute on the edge handling and straight-line performance (I know this sounds like heresy). Look at Honda as a prime example, for years their bikes have been behind in the power wars, yet they keep on winning, the RC211V is not the fastest bike in MotoGP but it is the best balanced...and it wins...alot. Look at the Busa, there are faster bikes (Maybe) but there are certainly better handling bikes, bikes that stop better, bikes that weigh less, that are more reliable, and bikes that are built better. But do we give a crap about this? No, why... because the Busa is something different, something special, maybe a little more than the sum of it's parts bin parts. So it is for some of these Pseudo Exotics, folks don't buy them to rule the roost, there are other pleasures and rewards to be had with them and that is what the Manufacturer, is all about.

So to say the MV is a POS because it doesn't have the performance of a GSXR750 is sort of missing the point. If you bought an MV Agusta because you thought it was going to be the fastest thing out there then you shouldn't be trusted with your own money. The point of the Agustas, Benellis, and Ducati's to a point isn't just performance, check out the MV website www.mvagusta.com it becomes quickly apparent that they are focused on more than just performance. Both the Italian version of their site and the US version focus on the Art of the machines and that is where it's at for them. Performance? More than sufficient, looks just amazing.

But like a lot of things in this world, if you have to ask, you just don't get it.

Heh, Yeah I think I have a couple of trees sorta like those in background myself....

Taken for what they are though, I really Dig the MV's, though in Fairness I would be a lot more likely to drain the fluids and park it in my living room than really take it out and ride it a whole lot. Maybe a rotating platform...

Amen Rev. The MV's are beautiful regardless but it would be nice if they could have better performance. However, the 1000cc version is due to be released. I want a Brutale and an F4 to sit in my living room. Talk about beauty and style, DAMN!!!! They also are rumored to have the best sounding exhaust in the world, like a formula 1 race car. Viva Italiano!

After all if I want to just haul a** AND look good I have a Busa. MV's are rolling art. Whole different thing.

Very nice bikes. Let me know if you go out of town and need a sitter for those two. I promise to take good care of them.
