Looking for advice

Well, I'm lucky enough to have a wife that loves bikes and is willing to let me have all my toys. For our anniversary, the little woman has given me a $350 "bonus". All I have to do is tell her what I want and she'll fork over the cash.

Therefore, I'm looking to get your advice. My Busa is bone stock. I've had it for about 1.5 years, but due mostly to time restraints and other obligations, she hasn't been changed. With the time I've been spending on the site, I really want that to change.

My thoughts were a double bubble and the HID kit, which leaves me a little to play with, unless you guys change my mind. I'm pretty much set on the Suzuki double bubble. Although it's a few bucks more ($90 from dealer) than the Puig (my second choice), I like the semi-stock look and Busa logo, but again, maybe you'll change my mind.

So....fire away!

you will love the feel of a new screen but it takes awhile to get used to the look .put the reat in your pocket for tires!

how bout some free mods like...............

removing the reflectors and stickers, cleanup the a$$ end with a trim of the mudflap....

you could also spend what's left on some clear turn signal covers... or if you ride alot a tobin seat or sumfin....

black faring screens , tinted puig double bubble wind screen ,tobin seats ! maybe a couple cans of paint black out rear sets rear peg exhaust mount and mid pipes and cans:cool:

or instead of the tobins go for the clear alternatives led tail light and g2 plate relocator !

Tobins are a done deal, but not this round. Before spring. I want to keep my seats, so that will blow the wad, so to speak, and I'd rather have a few smaller items right now.

I hate the clear light covers myself. I'm very undecided about what undertail I want, but I've seen a couple I'm leaning towards, again, probably by spring, I'm not doig the tail now. I asked what undetail this was () but didn't get a response. I also got an email from another member (can't remember which now without looking) and may go with what they did.

Reflectors and such have been removed since this pic.

There's somebody on the site here who is doing the fairing screens, just a simple install. I know, I can buy everything and fit them myself, but anything I can do to save me time is worth it! Maybe that makes my $350......

Oh, and the pipes will NOT get painted. However, I am definitely going with a full exhaust (maybe by spring

) - I'm vry undecided...I had decided on the Yosh R22 kit that's been discussed here, then I saw someone with the HMF pipes here () that Speedemon has, and kind of like them.

stainless steel brake lines..

about $150 if you go with galfer -clear (that colored junk is just more poser bits anyways).

hmm..

if it was me I'd probably buy a set of tires to keep on hand.. everytime I look at my tires I realize I need new ones.. so I just try not to look at em' anymore..

Frame sliders is an idea....anybody care to give some detail on what they went with? Busa508?

Yes remove Warning Stickers, Cut Mudflap, Wind Sheild, and sell wife to buy more toys for the bike :p

or you could basically blow it all for peace of mind and get the scorpio alarm

I'd say if not that, then

-Puig screen
-Screen inserts (do them yourself and save $$$)
-HID light (by far one of the best you can do)
-clear signals & led bulbs
-undertail
-license plate relocator
-grips
-helibars or genmar risers (if you want/need them)
-XM Radio installed on the bike (think you'd be out under $75 in total,w/o subscription svc) & if you ride any length its a godsend
-slip on exhaust from ebay (probably very close to your $$ range if you shop wisely)
- new brake pads / lines
- radar detector
- stands if you dont have them
- frame sliders
- case protectors ( various types but can save you some coin if you drop it)
- tobins (you said you were gonna do them sometime, winter is a good time
wink.gif
)
- sportvue HUD (fantastic thing to have)
- speedo healer or yellow box (dont really need if you get the sportvue)
- gear indicator (dont need if you get the sportvue)
- regear it

guess thats about all I can think of off the top of my head... good start for ya anyway

I have a red Puig Double Bubble (mint) that I will be selling shortly. I also have a red Lockhart Phillips Speedscreen available now ($25). I might also have a few other red "details" (sliders, bar ends. etc.) available soon.

I'm in the process of changing colors, in case you didn't guess.

forget the bling....get a DID zvm530 x-ring chain (or equiv.) and a 42t or 43t rear sprocket. Most noticeable fun increase for the money. Did more for my butt-dyno then a $1000 set of pipes. Then, upgrade the brakes, hh pads and ss lines. Almost forgot, change to Silkolene full synthetic oil, that will cost you about $50 right there.....

Double bubble screen, sliders, clear alternative rear with intergrator,Throttlemeister, progrip or similar grips, screens, and some sort of tank protector.:)

All good suggestions above

Frame sliders and windscreen would be my choice.

For some bonus points: Take some of the money, and take your wife out for a nice dinner letting her know that you appreciate her giving you the "bonus bucks". This would be like investing in "future" bonus bucks.
