Looking for some help.

I purchased a set of Cortech Sport Saddlebags from a member on here and they came with no mounting straps. I have had these for months and have not been able to use them.

I contacted the member when I realized there were no straps and he says he does not have them.

I proceeded to contact Cortech/Helmet House Customer Service and try to get some straps. Their website has no phone number on it and the inquiry form gets you nothing in return. After sending 10 inquiries over 2 months they finally replied that they are out of mounting straps and may have some in 30 days to send to me.

This has been a frustrating purchase.

Do any of the sponsors or anyone else have any suggestions on how to get some mounting straps so I can use these bags? I tried without the straps and they were just not secure enough.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have a CycleGear store near you? If so, they are a main distributor for Cortech, see if they can contact them. If not, go see a local upholstery shop and have them make some straps for you.

OR...

go to www.strapworks.com and make your own. They have everything you could want when it comes to nylon web strapping and connectors.

No CycleGear store around me.
So, they would just charge you up the ass anyways.

Here, I'll do it for you.
I just measured the straps on mine.  They are 3/4" wide.

1.  Get your credit card
2.  Call Mcmaster-carr 609-223-4200
3.  Order the following: 5 ft 3510T111 and 1 pk 29705T82
total with shippng $10.05 and you'll have it on
   thursday
4.  Cut webbing into 4   12.5" sections.  Thread a male
male buckle through each one and baby pin the strip
into a loop with the male buckle threaded through.
5.  Ask your girlfriend where her dry cleaners is at.
6.  Go to her dry cleaners and ask the lady to sew the
loops closed.  It will cost you around $3.00.
It will take her a day to do it, so you will have
   by Friday at the latest.

Total cost $13.00 and you can have them on Friday.

Otherwise, you can pay at least $25 for someone else to rip you off.

I use Strap works for making rifle slings and that sort. Top quality materials, and their customer service is awesome.

Thanks for the advise.

I received the items yesterday. The place has everything you could need. Ships quick also.

The only issue is the snaps don't match up with the ones on the bags. I tried to swap the ones on the bags but you have to pull the stitching to get them off.

I wish this was easier. Cortech said they may have some sooner then expected so hopefully they will show up soon.
