just been out on the busa and noticed im on the markers (again) checked on my mot and ive only done 1800 on this one (bridgestone )and didnt get much out of the one before that , they say the bt021 will last a bit longer ,,, confused what i should put on most miles are done on straight roads ,no burnouts but a bit faster then i should be going ,,on here some say pilots ,when this one was fittinfg i was told that suzuki rec a 200 instead of the 190 and i thought would last longer, all i need to know which tyre is best (i have bridgestone on front)

stock bt56 5221 km
metzler z6 8033 km
conti road attack 6282 km
pirelli strada 4829 km
mich pilot road 5972 km
bt020 4002 km

km=.62mile

270 lbs fully geared up rider weight
sporty sport touring riding style
no drags no burn out
occasional blasts up to 250 klicks
42psi front and rear all the time.

I liked the metzler best. So much that I purchased four rears and two fronts to have them on hand. Excellent stick wet and dry and good wear.

A good read:

nice one got to get one tomorrow as i cant have her off the road cos id go insane , i had bridgestones on my triumph daytona 1200 and they wore really quick so i brought a harder compound tyre as she is just my runaround but have to say it handles miles better and loads more miles on the rubber

I'm going with some Pilot Road 2s for my next set. Couple of folks around here are getting good milage out of them on bigger bikes (one is an FJR1300 Yami) and liking the performance too.
I'm like you, tires don't last me very long. OEM BT56s aren't going to make it much past 2000 mi.
Actually, the best milage I've gotten on a rear tire was 5000 on a Metzler Z6 that I used on the ZRX1200 I had before the Busa. Sport tires, I'm happy if I get 3000 mi on a rear and have yet to get a front to last through 2 rears.

I've been running 38lbs pressure in the rears and thinking about bumping it up to 40lbs on the next set for everything except Saturday/Sunday morning twisties.

I put 8k on the dunlop quailifer and there a pretty soft tire, but it all depends on how you ride.I usualy ride it like I own it and paid for it.

I like the shinko r009 and r005 for straight line and long mileage and the Powers also and keep all in stock...

i to run avon storms on my 99 busa great wet weather grip and good wear rate.wouldnt go back to bridgestones now
