affecting the Motorcycle Safety Fund. I appreciated your thoughts on
this issue. After informing members of the Controlling Board that I
would vote against taking money from the Motorcycle Safety Fund, a
compromise was reached with the following outcome.
On Monday, April 24, 2006 the Ohio Controlling Board amended the Office
of Budget Management's (OBM) request to reallocate $750,000 from the
Motorcycle Safety Fund to the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles. Instead of
transferring $750,000 from the Motorcycle Safety Fund (Fund 846), an
additional $750,000 will be transferred from Fund 835, the Financial
Responsibility Compliance, (for a total of $10,750,000) to the State
Highway Safety Fund.
